American Craftsmanship ~ Nesting & Pattern Making
AMERICAN LEATHER
The process of nesting allows operators to see the flaws in the leather and thereby offer a superior means of providing the most consistent pieces for a finished sofa or chair. Nesting is the first of many steps that allows for impeccable craftsmanship and excellence and also allows for higher material utilization and less waste overall. Manufacturers today continue to add in more advanced technologies throughout their manufacturing processes.

Patterns start in our research and development department by using scrap fabrics to fit onto each new frame measuring through trial and error until perfected. The pattern is then hand drawn onto a piece of cardboard and punched out for our cutting department to use on a daily basis. Fabric cutting is also an art form that is perfected through years of experience. Pattern fabrics are best cut by the human eye in order to match the furniture pattern precisely with the fabric pattern so that when you finish, you have an original product that is a complete work of art.
