Each piece of custom upholstery is bench made by hand by a team of experts specializing in their area of master craftsmanship. Frames are made to order, fabric patterns are cut one at a time in such a way that the patterns flow perfectly. Vanguard’s craftsmen take careful steps to make sure that each piece has the care and attention that is required to enhance the natural character and personality of the furniture. Every piece of furniture is truly unique — the same as every customer.

Each piece of our upholstery is handcrafted by a team of skilled artisans who have spent years perfecting their trade. A marker has the crucial task of laying out the pattern pieces for a particular style, paying close attention to the varying textures and distinctive features which are unique to each genuine leather hide. Each piece is cut, assembled by hand and sewn to assure that each style will exceed our tailoring standards. Specialized upholsterers and trimmers complete the process by hand tailoring each piece to exacting standards. Depending on the design, tailoring details may include hand tufting, pleating, stitching or individually applying nail head trim.
