Warm weather has arrived and it feels like we've barely worn our sweaters this winter! Oh well, the longer we can frolic in our summer gear the better, right? This issue we begin with our hot summer edition of What to Wear. We'll look at a few of the top trends and how to incorporate them into cute and stylish looks for any occasion and wardrobe. Next, our new beauty consultant Angie the Makeup Artist will show us how to create the beautiful Mermaid Braid, perfect for a day at the beach or a night on the town! Also popular this year (and one of our personal favorites) are shades of orange. Now in no way are we suggesting head-to-toe orange but a shirt in this color or accessories like jewellery or a bag will brighten up any outfit. We love these orange shirts paired with dark wash denim shorts, so cute!

You asked for more hair and beauty so we made it happen! We are very excited to introduce to you for the first time our official Trendslation correspondant on all things beauty and cosmetic, Angie the Makeup Artist!
From the age of fifteen, Angie Zachary knew she wanted to be ‘Angie the Makeup Artist.’ Starting as a model, Angie discovered her passion for beauty and style. 10 years in front of the camera and 10 behind, Angie knows what it takes to look your best. “This is my passion. I believe strongly that when you look good, you feel good. Which then allows your inner beauty to radiate outwards”. Angie has taught makeup workshops, worked as Key Artist for Lancome Paris, Chanel and NARS Cosmetics. Angie does make up for celebrities, high fashion campaigns and runway shows. “I am so excited to collaborate with Warehouse One. Summer Edition 1.
Start with dry hair parted slightly off center (dry hair is important to help give this look it's messy sexy appeal). Separate an inch of hair at the temple on either side of your head. Braid each section down the entire length of hair and secure both braids with clear elastics. Don't make the braid too tight at the top; we're going to tease the top sections a bit later!

The Mermaid Braid
Braids are back in a big way right now, and what could be better than this beach bohemian look for summer? Perfect for an evening out or a day in the sun, this sexy style is quick to put together and a gorgeously fun way to try wearing your hair. We love it and were thrilled when Angie showed us how to put it together ourselves! "The Mermaid Braid is not as complicated as it looks," says Angie. "Since the goal is a casually undone look, you don't need to gather for a clean braid and you don't need to try to tame your hair with balms or serums." www.warehouseone.com

You should now have two small braids at either temple. Take the ends of the braids and bring them together at the base of the crown of your head. Secure them together with another clear elastic. Don't secure the braids too tightly, as we don't want the top of the hair to look 'squeezed'. Keeping it loose also gives it a more flattering bohemian feel.

Summer Edition 3.
Using the ends of the crown braids , begin to bring small pieces of hair (about a quarter of an inch thick) from either side of your head and start a looser, smaller version of a French braid down the back of you head. Remember it doesn't have to be perfect by any means! The messier the better for this look.

Keep the braid loose past the nape of your neck and continue the messy braid style down the entire length of your hair. Secure the end of the braid with one more clear elastic. Tease out pieces at the top for volume and pull out a few small pieces from the braid for a messy, undone look. Spray any stray hairs backwards with hairspray and you're done (for a fuller look from the front braid slightly to the side of your head as opposed to straight down the back)! Voila! The Mermaid Braid!

4 oz orange juice 2 oz lemon juice 4 tsp grenadine syrup 20 oz ginger ale

Pour the orange juice, lemon juice and grenadine into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well and strain into a highball glass almost filled with ice cubes. Top with ginger ale, stir well, and enjoy! Makes about 4 servings.

Whether you spend most of the summer by the Great Lakes or by an ocean, your most cherished items are your swimsuits and sun hats. Remember to bring a summer cover up so it's easy to peel off layers and transform your look to suit the temperature. And don't forget to bare those shoulders!

Place the marshmallows and peanut butter cup on top of one of the graham cracker squares. Top with the last graham cracker square and you have a new twist on a classic campfire confection!
