TABLE AND DESK TESTING
There are a series of Standards and regulations applicable to the flammability of furniture and the exact requirements can be difficult to ascertain, FIRA International’s experts are able to discuss each specific situation and make the appropriate recommendations.
Tests for safety, sharp edges and entrapment points in folding mechanisms, stability, strength, and durability performance.
FOAM TESTING FIRA International undertakes a series of furniture foam tests to assess performance criteria such as hardness and foam pounding. Tests include assessing suitability for use, quality checks/controls, hardness tests, complaint analysis, flammability tests (mandatory in domestic use) and pounding tests.
STOR AGE FURNITURE TESTING Tests include safety, stability, strength and durability. CHILDCARE PRODUCT TESTING Tests include safety, dimensional requirements, stability, strength, durability, impacts and performance levels.
TE X TILE TESTING
SURFACE FINISH TESTING
Tests include physical strength characteristics, color fastness to light, wet rubbing, dry rubbing and water, pile retention properties for woven and knitted pile fabrics, wear resistance tests such as abrasion resistance, pilling, leather tests such as flexing, visible soiling, abrasion, light fastness and performance standards.
Tests to assess damage from abrasions, impacts, scrapes and scratch resistance, resistance to wet and dry heat, and chemical resistance to oils, acids, bleaches, tea and coffee.
BED AND MAT TRESS TESTING
WOOD BA SED MATERIAL S TESTING Tests for internal bond strength, screw holding, grit content, dimensional stability and resistance to bowing and distortion.
Tests include structural and stability testing of bedsteads and bunkbeds, children’s cots and beds, mattress performance and spring tests. Tests will vary depending on whether the product is intended for home use or for hotels, nursing homes, hospitals and more. CHAIR AND SE ATING TESTING Tests for safety, stability, strength, and durability. Tests can be carried out on domestic and office chairs and seating, ranked stadium/theatre seating, educational chairs, general leisure chairs and camping chairs.
