NATHAN THE WISE
By Gotthold Ephraim Lessing Adapted by Michael Bloom
Directed by Adam Immerwahr

COMPULSION OR THE HOUSE BEHIND WHO OWNS ANNE FRANK’S STORY?
Sid Silver is a man obsessed. When he learns about a young girl named Anne Frank and her diary, Silver makes it his mission to ensure her tale is heard. But is the manuscript a work of art? A cultural treasure? Or simply a valuable product? As he fights for the diary’s publication and the rights to adapt it into a play, Silver’s idealism turns to fanaticism, and his good intentions may prove to be his undoing. A fascinating, semi-fictional story about one forgotten writer’s battle for one extraordinary girl’s diary. “Absorbing… a fascinating, multilayered tale.” —The New York Times JOIN US FOR THESE INFORMATIVE POST-SHOW DISCUSSIONS:

When and how do I announce the baby’s name? Join EDCJCC Children and Families staff Lindsay Kagin and Miriam Szubin — who have welcomed two girl and three boy babies between them — for a virtual workshop on Jewish rituals, traditions, and options for a bris (a Jewish religious male circumcision ceremony) and simchat bat (celebration of a daughter). You’ll walk away with information, resources, and connections to a community of other parents-to-be of Jewish babies. Please note that we define “Jewish baby” however you do! All are welcome.

RAISING ANTI-RACIST CHILDREN
Raising children to build a just world is a life-long process, as well as a difficult challenge for parents to navigate. Join us for a two-part series with expert educator Dr. Nabina Liebow, who will take us through the learning and practical steps necessary to raise anti-racist children and help us create a cohort of race conscious parents in our community. This workshop is designed for anyone who wants to understand how white supremacy and white privilege affect all parts of our lives and how to bring these ideas into conversation and action in parenting. It is meant as a beginning to this work, rather than to be comprehensive or all-encompassing. Co-presented by the Edlavitch DCJCC Parenting Center and Morris Cafritz Center for Social Responsibility
With Sarah Marks, founder and president of Nannies by Sarah.
Tuesday, January 18, 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM
TOILET TRAINING WITHOUT TEARS
Many parents today are terrified of the toilet training process, having heard horror stories from friends about the power struggles and stress they encountered. This workshop will address ways to approach potty learning in a way that is developmentally appropriate, respectful to the child’s growing need to feel in control of his or her body, and which frees parents from unnecessary stress and anxiety. The workshop will also address ways to manage typical challenges that arise during the process. Facilitated by Claire Lerner, licensed clinical social worker and child development specialist.
