I hate Watch Geeks!....seriously???
There was a site brought to my attention today that has me baffled, disgusted and offended. It appears that its membership is made up of banned Watch Geeks and the main topic of discussion is their disdain and hatred for WG, Jim and anything remotely related to Invicta. They go so far as to post threads and screen caps of posts here at WG. They even have pictures of the WGGT on their forum. After browsing through a few threads I feel like I need to take shower. How sad and pathetic must your life be to join a forum who's main purpose is to bash another forum? They call the membership over here "kool-aide drinkers" and various other names. They even comment on members of WG's by name. One of the clowns over there said he had "spies" here at WG.....WTF???? Some pretty nasty things are being said, I don't know if some of the people they talk about can hit them with a law suit but I sure as hell hope so. I don't know what purpose this post serves.......I guess I just had to say something..... BTW I love being a WatchGeek

Some people need to lurk in the shadows and invoke negativity which I assume gives them some kind of conspiracy theory high. I prefer this site and the over all positivity exuded here as well as the ability to civilly express concerns to people that are actually in contact with the manufacturers of said products. What profits me to troll around in the dark and make fun of people? __________________

I have come across it by accident myself, Don't really care for that site or its people. I don't let it bother me just like I try not to let others comments on here bother me. I enjoy this forum and glad to see the moderators doing a good job of keeping it pretty desent here. __________________

I would have to assume it started as an innocent forum but it is definitely kind of weird (to say the least) now... You don't have to love every brand or sponsor for that matter, to be a Watchgeek. You just need to be respectful others. I don't drink kool-aid and I am proud to be a Watchgeek. __________________

I'm just glad to be here and not there. I know that misery loves company. Whoever that is, need some help. Meantime, we help each other. Others are jealous. If being happy that others are doing well means that I've been drinking the kool-aid, then count me guilty. I don't apologize for wanting to make others happy. Negative comments I've seen elsewhere have largely been related to rabid INvicta f@nboyism and buying watches via a 'TV home shopping network'. In all honesty, I can appreciate criticism related to the former (I also find it rather tiresome) but not so much the latter. To each his/her own, though existing primarily to trash another site is kind of lame assuming that's the case. bluloo View Public Profile Send a private message to bluloo Find all posts by bluloo Add bluloo to Your Contacts #23 06-14-2010, 06:05 PM Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: New York City Posts: 33

Ya know may explain all the Invicta bashing here . This is a great site of caring people , you guys are great !!! You can come here and find a laugh ,listen to music find watch deals , see great wtches and find people who really care , if there were more people in the world like the people here the world would be a better place !!! It makes me laugh the people that hide behind the computer to scared to be in the real world . You'll find them in the high grass on thier bellies , people like that don't deserve my attention . This is the only forum I've belonged to. Didn't even know what forums were prior to this one. However, over the years, we have heard these negative comments coming from other watch forums. We have heard that some banned members have gone to those forums too. But, I didn't know that a watch forum was created just for the banned WG members to complain about this forum. I've given the benefit of the doubt to the mods/owners here when they ban someone, that the person deserved it. Honestly, there have been a member or two that I really questioned the banning and I tried to give the banned member the benefit of the doubt, but if they are now participating in this new Hater forum, I guess the banning was really deserved, regardless of what I hoped... I've got a thick skin, but I do find it a bit hurtful that former WG members are talking negatively about us here. No one likes to be unfairly judged or talked about behind their backs. But, there's nothing that can be done to make those people change their behavior, so it is best to just let it go... Thanks for the info Isaac... I agree that it is good to know, but disgusting to know, at the same time... Magster View Public Profile Send a private message to Magster Find all posts by Magster Add Magster to Your Contacts

That site collects all the flunkies who feel they get little or no attention over here. They continuously go off on some negitive diatribe, bashing different brands, especially Invicta and when no one payes any attention, it infuriates them. It is a very sad day when someone has to resort to spewing negativity because they obviously could not abide by watch geek policies and support the effort of the people involved with this forum. Share information and respect each other and help those who ask for it. I guess it is too hard for some to just be nice and play well with others. JMHO. __________________

I am glad that they are banned & don't care if they get a kick out of this or not. It probably made their day giving them something than the normal everyday pathetic hating. The clowns can thank me later for giving them new material to work with.

I normally do not post to these threads because I don't like to particpate in the negativity. I just wasted 15 minutes of my life reading the entire thread on the other forum. What I find humorous is that it was about the same 7 to 10 people keeping the thread alive with the bashing, then re-quoting and congratulating each other on their posts. Well done boys!
What I find sad is that some of the same people are or recently have sold and or traded watches on this forum. I guess WG isn't all that bad when you have something to gain by it. Despite the recent rise in negativity on this forum...I still visit everyday to say hello to some friends, look at watches, learn something from time to time, etc. I don't always agree with some of the opinions on this forum, so I just don't comment. Why add fire to a flame? I will continue to sign on everyday until I don't find it fun anymore. Buddah - thank you for the thread. To Jim, Mike, Bruce and all the mods - thank you for this forum. To the rest of all the WG - you are all a great group of people. I am a Watch Geek! Mo __________________

Ok cmon now this IS PATHETIC!Everyone here who knows me knows I have a VERY BAD back situation which leaves me with not much time on my feet or out and about, so I spend about 85-90% of my day average laying down in my bed. Even I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN SPY FOR SOME OTHER SORRY LOSER!! WG's was good enough untill you got yourself banned, and who is so sorry and has no life to the point that they spy here for another person? SPY ON WHAT? Theres not exactly debate on a working formula for cold fusion going on here! GET A LIFE GEEZ! __________________ Big Denny In T-Town

Personally, I like that we censor cusswords, here. There's no need for that when you have a point to make. That's what I like about being here. We have a functional family-oriented forum. People can trust to be able to let their kids post here, most of the time. It was really nice to see someone let their daughter write a "Thank You" Note the other day. It makes this place something special. To Nayth, Meijin, Jskelton, and ALL of the Moderators, my best wishes. And to those who have hopes and dreams of making this a good place for all of us, Be Well!! __________________

I've also come across sites like this and think how sad their lives must be living in so much negativity. As quickly as the thought enters it leaves...I've got faith, family, friends, watches & Watch Geeks....What more can you ask for... -Ruben

Wow, I just checked out one of these other sites. Yikes ! I recognized a bunch of members posting here, and then spewing venom on the other site. I will definately keep an eye out for some of those trouble makers. Very two faced and pathetic of them, but they are who they are. I think a lot of the posts we get here from new or newer members trashing Invicta/CS or other hosts but that seem to have a lot of experience with Invicta or ShopNBC are troll accounts they create just to stir the pot for fun over here. I have started looking at post counts on new inflammatory threads and just ignore them. __________________

Almost all of them on the Speedway subject, and when you call them out, they have bought 2 Speedways and own 100 plus Invictas. They did not post on the other 100 Speedway threads, just this last weekend. Very suspicious. How lame and sad. Nothing like worthless people wasting their time and energy just to bring negativity. Not worth it. So lame. I will never understand that degree of anger and hate. This forum has great and helpful nice people here. Why would anyone want to be part of hatred and spite. No thanks. Isaac I thank you for showing me how grateful I am for being part of the good side not the dark. __________________

Invicta ******? I'm not a "******" of anyone or anything. Drinking the Kool-Aid? Not since I was about 8 yrs old. I spent all of 3 minutes reading just a single thread over there, and came away thinking "this is so 7th grade". If you don't like what goes on here, and want to go start your own forum and run it your own way, more power to you. But to start a forum who's primary goal is to trash another forum? Seriously?? Grow the hell up! __________________ Quote:

Please don't close or delete this thread
Please don't close or delete this thread, it reminds us of the great community we have over here. People should also know about the cheap character assasination of the owners and members of WG. I think some of that trash is grounds for a law suit! __________________

Kinda of flattering if you think about it.Something that is fun, free, and legal you participate in and enjoy disturbs others so much that they have to complain about it. But, I have been accused of having an offbeat way of looking at certain things rayfan View Public Profile

Wow you mean I can go to that site and say all the bad things about Invicta, insult people, and even get to swear. Talk about drinking Kool-aid, about 25 guys talking about the same things over and over with no dissent at all and self congratulating each other on who's the rudest non-fuzzy bunny. Reminds me of the Our Gang's He-mans Woman's Haters Club and at even a more juvenile level. But, you get to swear, in public even, for everybody to read. Well Isaac, I for one love this site, have made many friends, check it every morning and evening, find the discussions interesting and stimulating at times. Very well run, a place where you can truly discuss both positive and negative issues and topics. A truly WG community of like minded individuals. My hat's off to the owners an individuals that keep it running on a daily basis. __________________

Buddah, if you give anything enough attention, it takes on a life of its own and more importance than it deserves. I'm sure that other group wants to prove something, but here's how it goes down: they're proving that whatever it is that's going on over here is very important and matters to them. I have my own opinions on the matter, and frankly want nothing to do with it - that is: the key-board commando hate, name-calling games. In other words (as Brad AKA Flyback said perfectly) "it does not matter" __________________

Issac, I am appreciative that you brought this to my attention, because I had no idea that there was a watch forum out there dedicated not to the love of watching collecting, but the hatred of people who are passionate about it! What gets me is the pseudo-intellectualizing and holier-than-thou stance--but it is all verbalized with vile language. I have been known to utter a cussword infrequently, but when one is speaking in public, in this case in a forum, one should make an effort to use decent English. It must get very boring to belong to a forum whose sole purpose is hatred. ~ Denise rottieluv View Public Profile Send a private message to rottieluv Find all posts by rottieluv Add rottieluv to Your Contacts #111 06-15-2010, 08:24 AM

Wait up. There is Kool Aid being served here. That's it. Now I am pissed off at Watchgeeks for excluding me from the free Kool Aid! Just kidding. To heck with them. I have found that there are people in this world who survive on negativity. Their lives are filled with darkness and there is nothing that will make them happy. There is also nothing you can do to change their mind. They are the ones who have to come to a realization that you should look for the silver lining. One can decide to live happy or not. How bad off are we if we are able to indulge our hobbies. There are people out there who don't have anything to eat. They have it bad not us. Whether you like or dislike a brand is up to you. I have never felt like I could not speak of a brand or say something negative. That being said, there is a way of saying things that are not nasty. In the 30 plus watches I have purchased I have had two issues and believe it or not, neither was an Invicta. I feel bad for those who have had issues but based on the shear volume of watches this group buys there is going to be a sense of it being larger than it would outside this forum. My wifes' family has a saying, "don't let a@@holes live rent free in your head". Let them live in their negative land. It is not hurting anyone except themselves. We have some good times here and there are some great people here and that is all that matters. Before I became a Moderator, when I saw a negative thread, I'd move on to the next one... I knew that that wasn't the reason I joined WatchGeeks.. Now I have to read through every post in these type threads, & it really isn't that much fun at all, as many of you have found out for your selves... I belong to a few other watch forums, two of which are also very large ones... Their Owners & Moderators, are far less tolerant of these type threads then WatchGeeks... They are Jealous cause they have 5 members and a 2nd grade education. Why be in a watch group and worry about another one unless they are pissed they were thrown out of this one or for some reasond can't get into this one. One memeber even on all intencive puposes left this one and started his own and no one here bad mouhted him, and some of u even joined his group, and nothing as immature went on like ur talking about. Jim was even gracious enough to let the site Know Dinner Time started his own site Geek Freeks I think and that is how it should be, about the watches and your site and screw any site like that cause they aren't worth it. chitown View Public Profile Send a private message to chitown Send email to chitown Find all posts by chitown Add chitown to Your Contacts #145 06-16-2010, 08:01 PM Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Honolulu, Hawaii Posts: 2,174

I checked out some other forums. I am by no means a blind follower, you can read some of my posts. I do criticize when I feel it is due. This is the only forum I really feel comfortable with so here I will stay. The site in question is not the one a lot of you are thiniking of. George has seen it and it's only reason for existence as I said before is to hate Jim and everything Invicta then the members of WG's. I posted this thread because I was in schock when I read it and felt like I needed to share with my fellow WG's. I don't care if this thread made their year, they are still sad pitiful b******s. Hell if we all went over there it would probably crash their server.
George has seen what I am talking about, it is not just trash talking. I am sure a lot of what they say can land them in a lawsuit. I enjoy WG's and could care less what they say about me but the character assasination of Jim & Mike is ridiculous. I know they are still avidly viewing this thread since it is a chance for them to get new material, so allow me to stoop to their level for a moment.

Yeah really. I don't know if they have been stopped yet. I passed the info I had up. Hopefully that will get them stopped mirroring the threads at WG. __________________

Isaac, always remember, when you're on the side of righteousness, you can never be condemned, mocked yes, slandered, yes, but goodness always wins out over evil. WG community is goodness. __________________

As I do once in a while (I am not a member) I checked out one of these sites tonight. The
amount of hate and venom being spewed forth by that other sight is astounding. I did not realize I was a lamb, and all you fellow WGs are sheep, and Jim is the Shephard. They compared tonights Pro Diver TTV, V7750 to a Timex. All I can say is WOW ! __________________

I often see posts here referring to other sites with Invicta and WatchGeeks haters. But I am must be dumb, I have never seen such a forum! The forums I frequently read include WUS and TimeZone, where I would definitely say there is not a lot of respect for Invicta, but I don't see any hatred there. I've never even seen WatchGeeks mentioned on those sites except in passing. So there must be some "other" site I am not aware of. I'm almost afraid to ask, so I guess I don't want to know. I suppose you could say I am just glad I have not come across it! Eric. __________________

Yeah, but here's the thing ... you do read a lot of strong opinions on those other forums, but if you read through the threads, there are usually other contrary opinions expressed also .... and whether you agree, or not with what is actually being said, it is kind of refreshing to see that there are forums where members can say whatever is on thier minds without fear of thier posts being deleted. Another thing is that there is a lot of interesting information that can be found by browsing around those other forums that you would never learn here. And here is yet one more thing, it's amazing to me how many new members seem to be joining those other forums because of the fact that they got banned from WatchGeeks. That's something to think about. __________________ "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace" - Jimi Hendrix WatchYaThink View Public Profile Send a private message to WatchYaThink Send email to WatchYaThink Find all posts by WatchYaThink Add WatchYaThink to Your Contacts #166 Today, 09:54 PM

That's something to think about. Once again you are hinting about the "Freedom of Speech" issue. Michael has made it very clear that if that is what you are looking for "move on", because the Bill of Rights does not
apply here, this is a private forum not a government entity. I tend to agree with you, but what I think doesn't matter because I agreed to the "website terms" when I signed up. __________________

Hi Isaac... Thanks for the heads up on the other site. I have seen some internet forums that let members "flame" each other with arguments and counter-arguments that started to get nasty and make personal judgements. Until true friendships were broken between some very talented people. Michael Davis and the MOD(erators) here, I feel, are doing a better job than ever. One of the most memorable stories I read about "criticism" was something from France turn of the century. A well known French orchestra Conductor was handed a very negative critique by a newspaper music reviewer. This conductor was passionate about his work and
study of music. He was also clever. He had printed a reply that read like this: "Sir, I am sitting in the smallest room in my home. I have your review in front of me. Soon it will be behind me." Priceless! __________________ "Don't sweat the small stuff?!? With watches, it's ALL about tiny, important small stuff."
