Before diving into one of the newest features of the Anniversary Limited Edition of the SAN III that will be offered as a TTV this weekend, I wanted to make sure we are all on the same page as to how special this model of watch is not only within the company, but to Eyal himself. The name Subaqua Noma is important to understand. The Subaqua part is easy. Loosely translated it is "under water". It is the "noma" part that throws people. It actually stands for the first two letters of the first name of each of Eyal's first two children. And then there is "Project ABDA". Some may have seen this engraved on the case back of their SAN III. This is first two letters of the first names of his second set of children. So, obviously, this watch really does have a place in Eyal's heart. The point in telling you all of this is that when it comes to a company that has 1,200 to 1,500 different models in production at one time, it is virtually impossible for one person to be involved in every aspect of every model. However, when it comes to the SAN, this is "Eyal's watch". He is involved in every step because it is a watch that holds a special place in his heart. This is obviously seen in the evolution of the watch over the years. And it is surely seen in the design, materials and release of this anniversary edition of the SAN III. With all of this being said, some of you may have noticed how unique the "mother of pearl" looks in Jim's picture of the new Anniversary Edition of the SAN III. The reaosn that it looks unique is that it is, in fact, not mother of pearl in the sense you are use to seeing it. It is "River Pearl". A new material never before used by Invicta and only used by a handful of other brands in the world. This fresh water mother of pearl comes from a large lake near the city of Shanghai in the Yangtze Delta Plain called Taihu or "Grand Lake". It is the 3rd largest lake of the 5 freshwater lakes that China is known for. The cultivation of this material from the Taihu Lake is strictly controlled with a quota and is heavily supervised. This assures a high level of eco and habitat friendliness. Please keep in mind that it takes a total of 7 years before this material can be harvested and start the special and delicate process of turning them into an Invicta dial. This material is unique in tone, providing a more of a muted marble like finish and are much more unique than "standard" mother of pearl. While the volume of material harvested is controlled, Invicta has the sorting/choice priority where we chose only the best in texture, color, size and uniformity. Additionally, our strict QC over this process ensures that there is

no distortion, impurities, cracks, tears or any other signs of distress. So there you have it. The most popular form of the SAN III (poly strap with stainless steel integration). The much loved SAN III platform (50mm case, 500m water resistant, screw down crown with locking crown guard, Swiss Made, etc.). Numbered limited edition. And now this very unique and rare dial material. Add to that the fact that this watch is going to go out at the lowest price we can find and you have a great collecting opportunity here. Be ready this weekend! I am predicting they go very fast and will not last the day! For those that do not know, this TTV is scheduled to launch at 11pm Central on the 3rd or 12am Eastern on the 4th. __________________ Michael

To me, the "cream" color and somewhat milky look of the river pearl looks fantastic in the gold plated execution of the time piece. I normally go with the silver tone. But, in the samples I have seen so far, I am voting for the gold. Can't go wrong with either really. Another note...it is a small thing, but it sets off the dial well is the red that is done on the GMT hand of the Ronda 515.24H. It is amazing the difference such a little splash of color can make! Hope that helps! __________________ Michael

Mike There are no Invicta shows scheduled for Saturday into Sunday (4th - 5th), but there are for Friday into Saturday (3rd - 4th). Is this TTV for the 4th or the 5th?

Mike: Thanks for the info! I think I'm in too. Love the SAN III's in general - I own one on intergrated rubber strap and several on SS bands. The silvertone ALE is singing to me ... big time; and I thinks it's the new dial material that's putting it over-the-top for me! My only hesitation concerns the strap length, because with my other rubber strap SAN III, I can only wear it on the last or second to last hole, which is not all that comfortable - and is the reason I've stayed away from other SAN III's with intergrated rubber straps. Is the ALE on the the "standard length" intergrated rubber strap? If so, any suggestions on a work around or other options? Thanks!

As far as I could tell from the samples that I have worn, it is the "standard" length of straps. I have almost an 8 1/4" wrist and have plenty of room. But, as is obvious with a strap, it is only going to fit certain wrist sizes. I don't know of any alternatives for you, sorry! __________________ Michael

Thanks for that info Mike, that is really cool. I was on the fence because I really wish it was a s/s bracelet. However, I have to admit that even though I am not a gold tone guy, that gold tone with the cream MOP is really singing to me. If the price is as good as you say it is I think I will pick this up and then buy a s/s bracelet for it. You are good just like Jim, I guess I am sold on getting this bad boy. I'll be watching. Thank you for the info.

Michael, Thanks for the background information on the dials. I find this very interesting. It is impressive that Eyal and the Invicta Team are working so hard on exclusivity for a TTV. Keep em comin! Rich

just my two cents. The term 'limited edition' losses much of it value when there are 600 SAN III variations. They are all limited editions. I gifted my mother a baby lupah set with interchangeable leather straps. I looked a the dial and there it was again 'limited edition'. I don't really see the marketing point of this. Also, why are there so many yellow gold layered pieces when there is a TTV? It seems like we would rather see gunmetal or some other color. It's been more than one ocassion where I see the stainless steel sell out (7750 PD) or some deal a day site selling a previous TTV watch (like the Reserve PD) at HEAVY discount but ONLY in the yellow gold version. That sounds to me like Invicta is over doing it with yellow gold...a deal-breaker on any watch for me.

Mike, the watch looks great, but, more importantly, I wish you speedy healing.Since I've always had a very good work ethic, I really respect your dedication to your job. Not only do you work long hours, but you appear, at least, to do it with class and good humor. Feel better. Larry

Thanks for the information and the heads up Mike. Just one question. Will the straps and bracelets from the SANIII kits work on this platform? From what I have seen I'm encouraged. But being able to use the leather strap and SS bracelet would make this an even better purchase.

Thanks for the behind the scene glimpse Mike. I knew the SAN was special but did not realize the significance of NOMA. I appreciate you taking the time to explain. Have great week and as a side note from my own experience with healing broken bones; look up MaxGXL on the web - it works wonders! I'm glad to give details if you'd like to PM me. __________________ Gary

Thanks Mike for the info on the SAN III and it's origins. As a collector it's interesting to know that there is such a personal connection between Eyal and the SAN line. I just bought and received my third SAN III J179003 Blue/Gold-tone: IN5404 and I love it. Well made, balanced and executed... It never ceased to amaze me how a company can build such a high quality watch that is Swiss Made with this level of detail for 299.94. Thanks Eyal and Mike!! Jon
