I noticed while watching the invicta show last night that the new excursion touring edition on rubber with MOP dial (J179786) had an MSRP of only $429. Normally the MSRP on a reserve excursion like this would be listed in the $1200 range. I checked another new arrival on shop's website, a reserve SAS on rubber (J179780) and the MSRP was only $980 where it would normally be around $2k. Not that it is a big deal or will affect my opinion/buying decisions on invicta watches, but I just think it is interesting that Invicta is starting to take a more "real world" approach with their MSRP values.

I hope so. Those advertised MSRP's are embarrassing IMO.

I think having a $1K + MSRP, then selling it at 80% off cheapens the brand, any brand. __________________ Scheyertar says...Dean + Roy = K.......Duke=National CHAMPS!......GTHC!

I don't care about that pie in the clouds figure known as an MSRP as long as I'm not dealing with some idiot retailer like JCPenny's. I practically projectile vomit everytime I encounter a smug sales clerk who pulls a Corduba, for example, from the case and says "MSRP is $1,200 but,.....(spelling an inverted HELLO on the calculator) today it's on sale for $385.00". All the while, I know I can get it for as little as $89.00 on a good day! __________________ "Hold that thought, brain! I'll be right back!"

MSRP has always made me wonder. Is there any place that actually sells any of the Shop brands at list price??? __________________ No one can ever have too many watches.

I haven't seen one watch any where for MSRP. Even Pennys discounts them.

Because those MSRP's are ridiculous, I guess these D-bags on ebay are gonna have to stop selling three year old RD's for $900 now

Umm....I saw the SANIIII being sold in Tourneau at full price. I had also seen Anatomics with price tags of
$1200 in a major department store in Manhattan Whether anyone paid those prices is another thing altogether. If you really think about it, putting some of these watches on rubber straps cuts the cost of production-that's why we are seeing so many rubber reincarnations of the tried and true. Throw in that FF crystal and Voila! Cheaper "MRSP" prices.

Tim recently said something about the MSRP's during one of his shows, indicating that the MSRP shown on Shop indicates a price at which at least some watches of that particular model have been sold. I don't have the exact wording of his statement, so please don't quote me, but the idea was that the MSRP's are not meaningless. Perhaps with this in mind, the MSRPs reported by Shop now accurately reflect an actual sale price of the advertised watches, whereas perhaps this was not the case before?
