New Game Watch for NFL Refs: Preview

Check it out! The first sample of the watch we're making for the NFL Officials just arrived. This will be used by the NFL refs as their timing device during games (branded Reebok since they outfit everyone on the NFL field). They had a lot of special requests, in the physical construction as well as in the software design. But the watch came out great! It will be available to anyone, launching in August. - 48mm Case - 100 Meters Water-Resistant - Time & Date, with Dual Time Zones - Game Timer (can be used & set for any sport based on time) - Chronograph - Alarm - Electro-Luminescent Lighting I used to design a lot of the very high-tech digital watches for Timex, so I enjoy working on these every now & then. It's a different type of challenge than an analog watch, especially when the client has a lot of very specific requests in the structural design and the software design. I don't expect this to appeal to most watch collectors, but thought you guys might be interested to see the fruits of my labor on a very big project for NFW.

Thanks for taking a look! Best, George __________________

Thanks, guys. This was a lot of work but I'm really happy with how it turned out. In fact, the people at Reebok and the NFL like it so much that we set up a License Agreement. This means that, for the first time, we'll be able to sell one of our Reebok creations through retailers and to the public. In the past, for projects that we've done, such as watches for the Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs, etc the watches were only for the athletes and team personnel, and could not be sold to anyone else. So, this particular digital watch actually represents a big deal for us, I'm happy to announce! Since we made the timing software flexible so that it can work with virtually any time-based sport this watch can be sold to refs in all sports, at all levels, from pee-wee leagues, thru high school, college, and pro. And we think there's also a market for people who want to have the exact same watch that the NFL refs are using out on the field. It also makes a nice, basic, sport/digital watch since it does more than time games. Once you get used to it you'll find the software is really intuitive and easy to use. Anyway, thanks again for taking a look! G __________________

Thanks, guys. Glad you like it. I didn't think you guys would be into something like this, so thanks for the kind words! :>) Rick - I can't make these specifically for any teams at this point since that would involve a whole separate Licensing arrangement, which Fossil actually has locked-up right now with their watches. But it's something we're looking into for the future. We're starting with this Reebok license, and making them specially for the NFL refs (since Reebok has the contract to outfit everyone "on field" during NFL games) and will use that for some marketing leverage. The black & gray coloring makes it pretty-much neutral/universal. I think we'll expand outward from there with a few more color options, but just have to be careful about the whole issue of team colors for now. But that could certainly be a possibility down the road! These are the kinds of projects that help me to keep NFW small and personal while still generating some strong revenue from other sources. So, bottom line, it's all good! G __________________

Great to hear from you! We'll have these towards the end of August, just in time for the NFL season. I did negotiate

into the deal a stipulation stating that we'd be able to sell these direct, but we just can't undercut the dealers. So, once it's established what they'll be selling them for then we'll be able to let you know the price. But I think this one will be about $95. Will need to check the particulars of the Agreement to see if we can apply the WG 20% discount off that price or not.... :>) Best, G __________________
