Philip Swan 3-hand ETA-2824-2 - A blast from my watch buying past!

In this Why Did I Buy thread, I'm revisiting another watch I've owned for about two years now. This one being my Philip Swan ETA-2824-2 3-hand Automatic model # 8221140025. First off, I bought this watch because I LOVE Philip watches in both auto and quartz formats and I own a bunch of them. Other than being a Philip, I liked the 42mm case size which is on the larger size of the scale for a watch in the Swan line, when coupled with the 53mm lug to lug measurement this watch has a very good wrist presence. I liked the pure simplicity of the dial, the jewel like fit and finish on the case, the ETA automatic movement, the mesmerizing case back and the very comfortable leather strap with dual deployant clasp. I guess I like it all.

Beautiful Pictures, Brad! I love the nostalgic look of this piece. The strap is perfect for a professional looking dress watch, and the exhibition backl shows one of the best ETA creations, ever. Thanks for sharing! __________________

Hey Brad, those Philip three hand autos are some of my favorite and classic timepieces. I would love to get my hands on the version that you're wearing. I do have the Swan 3H auto power reserve that I picked up from Pete aka Cannon about a year or more ago and it is without a doubt still one of my favorites. Pics aren't near as good as yours, but here's the one. Hang on to that baby. It's a classic keeper !!!

LOL! They are both keepers IMO!!! I couldn't believe it when Pete was willing to sell me his. I've tried to get the black / ss version as well, but it is near impossible to find and if I have, no one's lettin'er go, LOL. Can't say I blame them either. __________________ Ignorance is bliss.
