Speedway Replacement No.640/800

I figured it's time to let all interested to know that my replacement No. 640/800 Silver arrived Wed. 26th, as my original No. 461/800 arrived with the misaligned hands. I really haven't said much here the past 2 days about No. 640, as I only made reply's to those who received either a good or bad watch. As I didn't want to jinx myself & start talking about No. 640.

Boy it's been tough not to chirp in about No. 640 the past 48hrs, however No. 640 was under some very highly critical tests & sent on a mission. She fought very bravely kinda like a female

Rambo

her hands where flying.

She tried to align her hands as I stood there watching

, then suddenly the

small hands started to try & move into alignment, again I stood there

& said

come out of this alright!

I

thought it would be a good idea to get a

over & bless No. 640 as I

knew it was going to be a very stressful & confusing 48hrs.

Well 48 hrs later she is __________________

Outstanding, I am glad to hear that Doug. I have a two-tone still in the box that I have not opened as yet. Usually I am all over the new watch arrives, but I have lost interest for the moment. More to come. darrylweugene View Public Profile Send a private message to darrylweugene Find all posts by darrylweugene

1st welcome to the land of geeks & 2nd did you at least check the hands for alignment? I hope all is fine for you, as it is really a fine timepiece when all is in working order of course.

Hi Doug, I hope that your Speedway continues to work well. I received mine (170/800 in SS) on May 25th. I gave it a good wind, did the start/stop/reset routine at least 5 times both Tuesday and Wednesday and it was performing perfectly. I also set the hour and minute hans to the 6 o'clock postion and they lined up perfectly. In checking accuracy against one of my radio controlled watches it gained 9 seconds per day, very acceptable. The date was also changing between 1 and 3 am, again very acceptable. Needless to say I was ecstatic that I received one that was working perfectly as it is a beautiful timepiece. Last night I did the start/stop/reset routine with the chrono and much to my dismay the chrono seconds hand would not reset to the "zero" position but at the 10 o'clock position. I truly hope that yours will work well but suggest that you put the timepiece through similar testing. Unfortunately, I'm sending mine back with a note to the Shop that it needs to be repaired. Regards, Manny __________________

Same here John, been checking everything plus & can only hope we got lucky? So far all chrono hands are dead nuts on the 12:00 markers & movement is very smooth & within +1 sec in 24 hrs. Since midnight last night I have had the chrono hands on & all hands align properly based on the time checked. Going to do the same & wear it all weekend & set & reset chrono & go from there.

Hey A.J. now that's some funny s*** right there! Well since yours is N0. 639 I guess he's my older bro! BTW: Did Peter inspect this one, as he did on my No. 640?

A.J. I wish you luck, as mine has been working like a fine tuned Harley! Well maybe not as throaty? UPDATE: 6/4/10: Everything is running very smooth & is about +2.5 sec (24hrs) I have played around with the chrono hands plenty of times over the past week & also shook my wrist violently & the hands stayed on. Everything lines up dead nuts after any setting, so this one seems to be ok? IMO: This watch is worth doing what you got to do to have this on your wrist! I know the issues at hand & if I had to wait 8-10 weeks I would do it. This watch oozes with a clean, crisp & classic look with a movement to be proud of & pass down to my son! Quote:

Yea, good ole Peter and if you were in the Military, you definitely KNOW what a "peter" is True about the HD, but the vibes do a nice job in keeping the movement wound! In 24 hours less then 2 sec slow. Sizing was easy but even with the microadjustments, I wish it had 2 half links. I played with the chrono and no problem. Now it is running full time. (Always run my chronos 24/7). Agree - if it re-releases it's a "must have", if you got it and haven't decided whether to ship it back for refund or send it in to Invicta - I'd send it to Invicta. Especially if it's only misaligned hands! Just sent back the "bad one", as I was holding on to it just in case the second was "worse" then the first. In fact if #2 was worse, I was going to send the original to Mehdi for a fix. But all worked out in the end! Wear your well, Doug! Quote:
