The Zenith has been around longer than the SANIII that has slightly similar influences. Wouldn't consider either a "knock off" really, put 'em both side by side & there are plenty of differences. __________________

Who's to say Zenith produced this style 1st? So then maybe it would be the other way around?
Invicta does have K/O just look @ the Pro Diver - Rolex anyone? __________________

I agree that the Zenith came first. I believe that the correct horological terminology is that Invicta pays "homage" to Zenith's designs. Funny thing, I had my eye on a Zenith at my local Bailey Banks and Biddle when they were going out of business. I told my wife that when it got down to 95% off of $22,000 I would buy it. Unfortunately someone bought it at 60% off... Over the years Invicta has paid "homage" to many other watch designs. Bell & Ross, U-Boat, Oris, and so on. And of course, the russian diver is an homage to the original Zlatoust era designs. Even the Lupah which is heralded as Invicta's breakthrough design could be considered a rectangular homage to the Corum bubble watches. One area that Invicta may be pioneering is the trend toward larger and larger watch diameters. Whether the large watch trend will continue is yet to be seen... __________________

This is another Post (SAN III is a hommage (copy) of the Zenith) that comes up from time to time. I imagine the Zenith came first all though I'm not 100% sure. These newer SAN IIIs with the perf dials and propellers do make the SAN III look more like the Zenith. However, I don't believe the original SAN IIIs look anything like the Zenith. This topic came up over a year ago and I posted a pic of Citizen watch that looked more like the Zenith than the SAN III. I realize Invicta does straight up copy other watch designs. However, just because Zenith is a more respected watchmaker doesn't automatically mean Invicta ripped off their design. D __________________ Swiss Made OG II Chrono (5050c)

If anyone has one of these Zeniths in your collection since you have discovered it's an Invicta Subaqua knockoff pm me and I will send you my address so it can be disposed of properly. Invicta knock off? I doubt it!
There is an entire line of watches from Zenith called Defy. They debuted the line around 2003 or so. __________________ I don't trust a man who doesn't wear a watch!! azwatchgeek View Public Profile Send a private message to azwatchgeek Find all posts by azwatchgeek Add azwatchgeek to Your Contacts #47 Today, 07:54 PM Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: West Palm Beach, Floriduh Posts: 1,009 Real Name: Matt

This is all in good fun. There are numerous examples of companies using design cues from each other in many consumer based industries. Now, $22,000 for a watch? It's all relative and for that one, I would NEED a rich relative!
