Zodiac Oceanaire
I had been looking for a Blue Zodiac Oceanaire for a couple of months and finally got a preowned (albeit unworn and in like new condition) on another forum today. I am very excited because I had bid on a couple on Ebay and they quickly got up around 265-285. I ended up getting the one I got for $200 shipped. I have been looking for an automatic diver and originally purchased a Seiko Monster which I quickly sold because it was just not my style. Anyway, can anyone tell me anything about the Oceanaire? It seems like it is a quite "rare" or "limited" Zodiac because there are not many around on Ebay or other forums. Anyone know the reason for this? Thanks in advance.

Congratulations! Great price on a fantastic watch. Easily my favorite Zodiac (although I don't own one). I believe the reason for their scarcity is that they're no longer made. It has a
CL888 auto movement which is a solid workhorse found on some of the Swiss Legend watches as well. I'd love to see some pics of your new prize. Cheers, bro! They are hard watches to find. I was looking for an Orange Diver, and when I saw an Oceanaire in what I was looking for, I jumped on it. Paid a little more than I should have,
but it was still a great buy!! Love it!! Show us some pics when you receive it. Here is mine:

I have four Oceanaires, two on straps and two on bracelets. I'm certain you're going to enjoy yours. __________________

The oceanaire came out around 2005-2006. It was made for like 2 years, and then they stopped making them, and they started to get much harder to find. Then all of a sudden in end of 2008, early 2009, they started making them again, and at the time realeased new models, a blue, an ip black and orange and a white one. original oceanaires said zodiac divers club on the case back and there was black dial, orange dial(rubber only) and yellow dial(bracelet only) when they reintroduced them in '09, they were black dial, orange dial, blue dial, black ip with orange rubber, white dial with white rubber. these also said zodiac automotic oceanaire on the case back instead of divers club. Seems like they have stopped producing the oceanaires yet again, so they are becoming harder and harder to find . If anyone wants a great dive watch, with a good movement, a unique look and comfortable, if you see it for under $300, grab it, its still a good price. I paid way more for mine years back . marlboro View Public Profile Send a private message to marlboro Find all posts by marlboro Add marlboro to Your Contacts #10 06-08-2010, 09:26 AM Join Date: Feb 2009 Posts: 896

Thanks for all the info! The watch showed up today and I was very surprised at how much I really liked it. For the price I paid I feel like I got a steal, even at the list price I think this watch is a great deal. One of my associates in my firm has a Omega Planet Ocean. We are always talking watches because he likes to check out my Rolex President. Today we were comparing the Zodiac with his Omega and i was really surprised how well it looked side by side. Granted I am not saying the Oceanaire is a better watch, but looks and heft wise it really held it's own. I can't believe it but I found another Oceanaire at Ross dress for less today. If anyone is interested in the blue one I have been talking about I will sell it for the 200 I paid. PM me if interested. Taxg8r00 View Public Profile Send a private message to Taxg8r00 Send email to Taxg8r00 Find all posts by Taxg8r00 Add Taxg8r00 to Your Contacts #14 06-10-2010, 06:40 AM

WOOT! Just picked up the Oceanaire in blue! Brand new with all the protective covers still
on. I absolutely love this watch, its easily my favourite so far. It oozes quality and the movement seems great so far. Will take some pics tomorrow and maybe have more impressions. jilgiljongiljing View Public Profile Send a private message to jilgiljongiljing Find all posts by jilgiljongiljing Add jilgiljongiljing to Your Contacts #16 Today, 10:14 PM Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: On the Puget Sound, WA Posts: 12,255 Real Name: Charlie

Genius design IMO. I think I've posted this opinion 1000 times, and I'll probably say it 1000 more. That is a great watch, I love it. If it was 48mm and had a 2824 movement, it would be perfect. __________________
