ADDED ADVANTAGE IBEC Education and Skills Survey 15 November 2010 (340 companies employing 115,000 staff ). 74.6% of respondents said they had no difficulty in recruiting suitable graduates from Irish higher education institutions. The ability to work autonomously, ‘attitudinal’ and ‘people-related’ skills were ranked as the top three gaps in graduates’ competence.
“The perceived shortfall in this areas is a real cause for concern... Employers and educators have a critical role to play both in addressing these skills gaps and bridging the gap between education and employment.” – Tony Donohue, IBEC Head of Education Policy.
