Current News Dear Colleagues, We are coming to the end of another busy year in the Literacy Development Centre. This year, we launched two new Teacher Educa on programmes for Further Educa on; we added new modules to our Level 6 & 7 programmes; con nued our involvement in European research projects and completed a research project with our partner, NALA, on prac ce in adult literacy in Ireland. Today, July 1st is the establishment date for the new Educa on and Training Boards and is the most significant change in the structure if the Further Educa on sector since the 1930 Act which established the VECs. These structural and policy changes in the further and adult educa on sector will present lots of challenges and opportuni es for the future. For us all. We hope to con nue working with you all in the coming year and wish you the very best for the summer ahead. Best Wishes,
