Message from the Principal
Oswegatchie Families, Thanks for another great week at Oswegatchie School. Start With Hello was a success! We appreciated the enthusiasm and sincerity of our 5th grade greeters throughout the week. I hope everyone encountered some acts of kindness from their secret buddies. We have attached some pictures of our students in front of the Friendship Quilt that each class had a hand in constructing. We are always on the lookout for those that may feel left out, and we can count on our students to initiate compassionate relationships. The kindness doesn’t end here, of course. October marks the official start of Second Step lessons, a program to support Waterford’s focus on social and emotional learning. Second Step provides engaging lessons in skills for learning, empathy, emotion management, and problem solving. We will be keeping you up-to-date regarding what we are learning and how you can help throughout the year. Starting Monday, Oswegatchie's breakfast will be grab-and-go. Students will get their breakfast from the cafeteria and head to their classrooms. This will ensure that everybody is in the classroom and ready to learn at the same time.
