Message from the Principal
Hello OSW Families, It was a very productive week at Oswegatchie. I am extremely proud of both our students and teachers this week. Our students persevered during MAPS testing and we will have some good information on how to best meet their needs during whole group and small group instruction. Our teachers just finished an intensive three month investigation cycle on our math data and current instructional practices. In hearing their reflections and through classroom visits, it is clear we are providing both a rigorous and supportive learning environment tailored to the individual. We greatly appreciate all of your support in the education process that you provide at home. Mrs. Hullivan's Book Club is off to a roaring start! Thanks to those that are participating, and for Mrs. Hullivan's commitment to the joys of reading. Mrs. Gallis's Amazing Shake crew continues to spread kindness and good manners. They are serving as wonderful role models for our younger students. Representatives from our Student Council attended the Connecticut Association of School Leadership Conference, an interactive day of breakout groups and discussions to help develop leadership skills. Thanks to Mrs. Castelpoggi and Ms. McDonald for leading these leaders! Please review the event calendar to see all the great things coming up including Science Night. We are still looking for students to contribute to our science exhibit hall, so step right up!

Got Science? We want to see! We are working hard to make sure this year’s Science Night is a special one. One way to ensure that is giving an opportunity for our young scientists to present a science project on January 25 th. We will be presenting a Science Exhibit Hall for students that would like to showcase their own scientific research projects. This is open to all students K-5, and parents collaboration is encouraged. Here are some suggestions to kick-start your creativity and some great guidance:
