Message from the Principal
Hello OSW Families, Thanks for a nice week! It has become quite cold, and it will remain so for a while. Please make sure you send your child to school with a jacket, hat, and gloves, if possible. If a child comes to school without a jacket, they will stay in for recess for their safety and health. If you are having difficulty accessing winter jackets and/or accessories, please reach out and we will try to help. Waterford continues to shine as a community that truly cares about each other. Please check the attached flier from Waterford Youth Services to find out what services may be available during this financially strenuous period. Furthermore, here is the link once again for Free/Reduced lunch applications: https://www.waterfordschools.org/UserFiles/Servers/ Server_314195/File/FoodServices/Free-Red%20App%20and% 20how%20to%20apply%202018-19.pdf I look forward to seeing you at Science Night on Friday, January 25th. We are still looking for projects for our Exhibit Hall, so please sign up if interested. I appreciate the increased efforts and patience when maintaining the safety of the parking lot at the beginning of the day. Let us know if you see any activity that could put someone in danger. Thank you very much for caring about our kids. Joe Macrino Principal Oswegatchie Elementary School Waterford, CT 860-442-4331

Got Science? We want to see! We are working hard to make sure this year’s Science Night is a special one. One way to ensure that is giving an opportunity for our young scientists to present a science project on January 25 th. We will be presenting a Science Exhibit Hall for students that would like to showcase their own scientific research projects. This is open to all students K-5, and parents collaboration is encouraged. Here are some suggestions to kick-start your creativity and some great guidance:
