Activities for Informational Text: 1. Glossary - Create a glossary of the topic specific words from your book. You should include at least 5 words and their meanings. 2. Fantastic Facts! Write 3 new facts you have learned from your book using boxes and bullets. For example Tigers are built for hunting. Tigers have strong bodies. Tigers have sharp teeth and claws. Tigers have excellent eye sight.
3. Very VENN - Compare and contrast two topics from the book using a Venn diagram. 4. Persuade Us! - Based on your reading, develop an opinion about a topic from the book. Write a short summary supporting your opinion. Provide at least 3 reasons. For example, Sharks are the most skilled hunters in the ocean. One reason is sharks have a keen sense of smell. They can smell a drop of blood as far as 3 miles away. Sharks also have razor sharp teeth that are replaced immediately if one is lost. The teeth are made to cut and tear quickly. Another reason is sharks can swim very fast.
5. Opposite Opinion – Based on your reading, develop an opinion about a topic from the book. Now defend the other side of the argument by writing at least 3 reasons why that opinion is not correct.

Book Blurb! - Create a book blurb for your book. Remember you want to hook new readers without giving away the story. 6. Story Timeline - Create a time line of events from the book.
