t’s a long way from where we used to be as a community, but here in the afterglow of the silver anniversary of all things GayDayS and Magical (and everything else!), the wait was obviously worth it. The history of protest against the community’s signature event is not that far off in the sepiatoned distance; and it’s probably not completely gone, but who cares? We are ourselves in a new phase of our collective identity; we are in charge of our futures; we continue to make a difference. Also, we continue to enjoy a good time when a good time is due. Though some of the principals involved have changed over the years – not to mention the fact that one “Day” has grown into virtually a full week – the mission remains the same: visibility. It’s gone beyond red shirts and rainbow flags, beyond marriage and into the realm of common decency bedazzled by uncommon talent.

If you’ve never experienced the big gay experience at Orlando’s attractions, clubs and watering holes, then you’re in for a treat. Within these pages, you’ll find an enormous list of things to do at the parks and in the surrounding areas. From pool parties to all-nighters, foodie events to pageants, drag shows to full-on performances, we’ve got you covered. Well, we’re kind of counting on you to keep yourself covered, but that’s a topic for the windmills of your mind. So we implore you to lose yourself for just one (long) weekend and run amok with all of the entertainment options in your immediate grasp.
