Description
LOW-DRAG, NO-PULLEY BRIDLE LINES
Our highest-quality spliced, pre-stretched bridle lines are pre-loaded and measured before cutting to improve accuracy and consistency. This results in reduced shrinkage, reduced elongation and improved longevity. Removing ALL pulleys from the bridle improves safety and gives the kite direct and precise handling. The end result is lower drag, more accuracy and a more direct feeling.
N-FORCE 75 STRATEGIC CANOPY REINFORCEMENT
The reinforcement material adds strength and elongation control, protecting the lighter inner main canopy body and producing a durable kite that can hold its profile for increased performance and lift, but is also more dynamic, flexible and can twist to turn. Because the fabric is more conforming to the inflated structure than a heavier dacron, it creates a smoother, cleaner entry on the profiles.
GO GREEN RECYCLED PET KITE BAG
33 recycled plastic bottles go into making every North kite bag. Our recycled PET fabric meets the Global Recycling Standard.
2-STAGE ARC DESIGN
Our two-stage arc design incorporates a flattened, more open arc shape through the central power-producing region of the kite, where the energy is most useful for you performance-wise. Pulling the wingtips in towards the rider gives the kite more responsive steering and the smoothest transition of the profile attack angles when it’s under load. A wide-span, flattened arc kite like the Orbit makes the most use of its projected area for greater efficiency, power, hangtime and drive. As the arc shape becomes narrower, the kite uses less of its area, giving it a smaller turning radius for tighter turns and less pull/power in turns. A narrower span kite such as the Carve is fast in flight, with less power overall.
AERODYNAMIC PROFILE TRANSITION PANELS
We’ve added an extra panel that connects to the leading edge seam to ensure a precise lateral profile shape is maintained as close to the leading edge as possible, creating a smooth transition from the segmented leading edge to the curved canopy so the profiles are more uniform throughout the entire wing. The panels reduce inconsistencies in the profile, resulting in a smoother, more efficient kite, with more aerodynamic airflow and less turbulence.
DURALITE SEAM PROTECTION
Lightweight reinforcement to protect from chafing and abrasion along the struts to the leading edge. Thin foam padding is inserted underneath to form a lightweight durable buffer which lifts the kite slightly off rough surfaces, and protects the stitching along the struts and leading edge seams.
PERSONALISED PERFORMANCE TUNING OPTIONS
Bar pressure and steering impulse can be adjusted on the wing tip, allowing you to fine tune the kite’s characteristics to your personal preference.
HYPERFLOW RAPID SINGLE-POINT INFLATION
High volume single point inflation system with larger diameter hose for rapid inflation and deflation. Bayonet style main inflation valve compatible with most pumps. No adapter needed.

All our kites are manufactured using high tenacity polyester yarn ripstop canopy material for lightness, high tear strength, zero porosity and longevity.

Our new N-Weave material has allowed us to create stiffer wings without geometric compromise. We created inflation tests using a section of the leading edge and quantified the stiffness at a given diameter and inflation pressure. The stiffness promotes greater power and transfers the energy of the wind into more speed, allowing you to use a smaller wing size without sacrificing the power. N-Weave is 3x Stiffer and 40% lighter, in comparison to the Dacron used in the Nova Freeride. The stiffer the board, the more responsive it feels. Our Hybrid Carbon Scoop Mini features a light yet durable epoxy composite laminate, with a balanced carbon and e-glass fibre layup, wrapped around a durable high-density PVC core. SCOOP MINI
ULTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT HYBRID CARBON TECHNOLOGY
Lighter weight construction for stiffness, manoeuvrability and glide. The stiffer the board, the better it will pump and the more responsive it feels. A light yet durable epoxy composite laminate, with a balanced carbon and e-glass fibre layup is wrapped around an EPS core. High-density closed cell PVC reinforcement around the foil track mount, leash plug and foot strap inserts spreads the load. An ultralightweight double bamboo reinforcement layer under the standing area adds greater impact resistance and rigidity. SCOOP, SWELL, SEEK
INTEGRATED PVC STRUCTURAL STRINGER SYSTEM
The DropBox foil mounting tracks are embedded into a high-density closed-cell PVC block. Two highdensity PVC stringers are glued to each side of this block, distributing the load lengthwise, and the full system connects the top and bottom laminate skins for maximum support. SCOOP, SWELL, SEEK
DEEP-V CONCAVE BOTTOM AND BEVELLED RAILS
The nose spine and double-concave in the underside of the nose, combined with the steep bevelled rails, helps with touchdown recovery. The V-shape in the bottom contour of the board breaks the water surface on touch down, so the board dives in gently and releases quickly, without sticking. The V also helps to funnel air under the board, which helps it to release faster. In the 2022 Swell, we’ve added a concave to the forward rail, for easy-grip control and stability as you pop-up to standing. SCOOP, SWELL, SEEK
INTUITIVE CONCAVED DECK
The highly concave deck allows more intuitive foot positioning, with the rider’s feet lower inside the board for even greater leverage, responsiveness, and heel/toe roll control. The recessed deck results in most of the board’s volume being shifted out toward the rails, in turn providing greater balance and stability on takeoffs and touchdown. SCOOP, SWELL, SEEK
GORE™ WATERPROOF 2-WAY VENT
The EPS core of a high volume board is affected by extreme temperature changes. To prevent air pressure build-up we’ve installed a two-way GORE™ Protective Vent on the top deck. This allows air to pass in and out of the board, while preventing water from entering. The vent is factory-fitted and does not require any adjustment. *3’10 Swell does not have a GORE™ vent. DROPBOX ADJUSTABLE FAST FOIL MOUNTING TRACK
Speed-dial your foil setup. Simply drop your foil pre-assembled with screws and t-nuts into the track, slide it backwards, then tighten the screws to fasten. Our unique structurally-integrated DropBox has a longer track for a wider adjustment range, allowing you to precision-tune the foil set up for your rider weight. Stabilizer Shim Kit SONAR FOIL SYSTEM
The rear Stabilizer’s main role is to maintain a level and stable flight path. But conditions and user preference may change what stabilizer angle feels the best (aka the sweet spot). Shimming changes the angle of attack (AOA) and controls the amount of downforce the stabilizer creates on the overall foil system to increase the stabilizer AOA and front foot pressure, add positive shim. The smallest tweak in the AOA can improve comfort, reduce fatigue, change the cadence of your pump or the turning radius of your carve and increase/ decrease your front and rear foot pressure without changing your foot position. With the Sonar Shim Kit you can stack multiple shims, from our base setting it covers from -0.5 to +2.5 degrees. Finetune the way your foil system performs and change the way you ride. You’re in control.
