COMMITTEE REPORTS Chairman Chard started by welcoming Gerry Crease to the committee. Chard had received Hereford the Peterborough Magazine and notification from Ray Buss that he has taken over Funding Update from Andy Screen who has retired from the Restoration Committee. Keith Noble had emailed Chard regarding his position as IWA representative on the River Gipping Trust saying this is due for renewal. Chard said he had agreed to continue in this role for the next 3 years and had sent Keith notification of this together with an update on the Trust. Chard explained to the committee that the Finance Committee is offering £2,000, being proceeds from the National at St Ives, to Eastern Region. Cambridge Branch has indicated that it has no project so it will be split between Ipswich and Peterborough. The committee discussed projects it could be used for and Chard is to put in writing our suggestions and present them at the Region Meeting in April. Chard told the committee the sad news about Barry Green and said that there is to be a memorial service in Norwich on 19 March and stated that he would attend to represent the branch. The death of Allen Matthews, Ownerships, was also mentioned and it was explained that there will be a family funeral with a memorial service at a later date. Secretary Charles had received and circulated the email on IWA Funding, IWA Cleanup notification for 1 – 14 March, Cambridge and Peterborough minutes, Pickerel Project minutes, Suffolk Wildlife Trust Newsletter and IWA Prom Comment Newsletter. Brian Holt had responded to the Norwich Plan on the River Action process. Charles had circulated the latest River Gipping Trust talks listing and was pleased to say that 4 parish councils had been added for these talks. IWA HO had sent an email suggesting that new Parliament candidates should be approached regarding the 2010 SOS. Stour Trust for their attention. Treasurer Spencer gave everyone a copy of the accounts and explained various items. HO will keep this in an account until we decide where the money will be spent regarding the restoration. Spencer had purchased a new laptop for the River Gipping Trust to use for presentations when giving talks. Brian Holt suggested that a donation from the branch should be given to the RGT towards the laptop so that it could be used on occasions by the branch and this was agreed by all those present. Public Relations Officer Brian said he had updated the publication leaflets and gave the committee copies to check and approve. Social Secretary Diana said that 46 people are now booked on the May trip. Regarding the winter meetings for 2010/11, Diana explained that the hall is booked and one speaker is confirmed. Editor, Anglian Cuttings Charles explained that a draft letter regarding electronic distribution had been circulated and said that once approved this would be sent out. The next edition will be posted, and those who have agreed, will also receive the magazine electronically stating that this is how it will be received in the future.
