MINUTES OF MEETING CHAIRMANS REPORT Rod had e.mail from Gerald Burns from a group in Halesworth who are still hoping to restore part of the Blyth navigation. An e.mail from John Fletcher requesting dates of the rest of the years events. This is in hand. Rod received a planning notice regarding a variation to a condition at Wroxham moorings. Rod agreed to reply to state our objection. There was also a change of use at the Berney Arms Public House to a single dwelling, although to lose another stop off point we felt we could not object. SECRETARY REPORT No report as Secretary not present. . TREASURER’S REPORT Spencer was pleased to report the purchase of a second hand digger and trailer funded by £2,000 from the IWA Ipswich Branch and the rest from the River Gipping Trust of £3,500.. This is to enable us to complete the new bywash at Pipps Ford and to assist in the up grading of the towpath. Although a dumper would be very useful we do not have the funds to be able to buy and there would be issues regar5ding the regulations noticeably Construction And Use. Spencer reported that the digger and trailer will remain the property of the IWA (and will be included in our insurance policy) Signatures ……..It was agreed that Carole & Dale be signatories to the IWA.Bank Account. Spencer to arrange. MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY Dale reported on receiving his first monthly Branch Report he was concerned that unnecessary amount of detailed information was sent via the e.mail. Head Office are now reviewing its procedures to comply with the data protection rules. He is therefore unable to give an update on membership numbers. Looking at past figures we are losing approx.. 2 memberships per month. Letter to new members has now been updated SOCIAL Gerry has organised an annual dinner at The Cedars Restaurant, Stowmarket details to follow via Newsletter.
