ATHENA Leadership AwardŽ Finalist Dean Dietrich | Ruder Ware Dean is active throughout Wisconsin serving in leadership positions with the State Bar of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Public Radio Association, Early Years Coalition and numerous community boards. Dean is a recognized leader in educating lawyers about professional ethics and compliance with the Wisconsin Rules of Professional Conduct. ATHENA Leadership Award® Finalist Janet Felch | J & D Tube Benders Janet has helped grow the business she co-owns with her husband from 12 employees to more than 125. Janet strongly believes that companies have a responsibility to give back to their employees and their communities. Janet has never forgotten how difficult it was to balance family and career earlier in her life and believes that her company practices a ‘family first’ ethic. Janet serves on boards for the Foundation of Saint Clare’s Hospital, Northcentral Technical College Foundation, United Way of Marathon County, Workplace Volunteer Council, and in positions at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

As a leader and a volunteer in the community, Renee believes great things can be accomplished by dedicated people working together for a common cause. On a personal level, Renee sees the potential in those she encounters. Renee helps these individuals to do their best, demonstrating to them that you may not always win, but you can always learn. She’s provided leadership and service for over 28 years as Executive Director. During that time, the organization has added 2-1-1, the Volunteer Connection, RSVP, Women In Action, Ready to Read, the LIFE Report and four coalitions; all focused on building a better community. Joanne is dedicated to the mission, is dependable, trustworthy and provides the leadership needed to make a difference.

Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital As the Director of the Foundation, Community Benefits and Spiritual Services at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital, Antonina works hard to engage young professional women through inclusion on the Foundation Board and through professional speaking engagements. Antonina advocates for women by supporting the Sexual Assault Nursing Examiner program, and as the VicePresident of The Women’s Community Board of Directors. Antonina has navigated the competitive nature of the healthcare industry in the region to work jointly with other hospitals to improve the health of our community.

ATHENA Leadership AwardŽ Finalist Jennifer Porath | Wipfli LLP - Wausau Jennifer is motivated by seeing others succeed. Jennifer’s professional career allows her to participate in leadership roles, both within her company and through volunteering in her community. When Jennifer is able to educate and expand opportunities for others or to give back to the community ... a community that gave her so much as a child, the rewards she experiences are vast. Jennifer volunteers for the Lincoln County 4-H Leaders Association, St. Stephens United Church of Christ, United Way of Marathon County, Special Olympics of Wisconsin, Wausau Area Jaycees July 4th Celebration, Big Bull Falls Blues Fest and as an ambassador for the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce.

Grand Lodge Waterpark Resort Melissa is the General Manager of Grand Lodge Waterpark Resort in Rothschild. Melissa began her career with the property in 2004 as a lifeguard and has worked her way through various positions. Melissa sits on the board for the Mosinee Area Chamber of Commerce, is president of the South Area Business Association and is the president of the Central Wisconsin Innkeepers Association. She also serves as vice-chairperson on the World Waterpark Association’s water resort committee and is a member of the Wausau Area Blessings in a Backpack event planning committee.

Ho-Chunk Gaming Nekoosa A commitment to her community and vibrancy in her work mark Lynette’s time as the senior manager of public relations. Lynette has moved on to a new position as chief communications officer with the Ho-Chunk Nation, but her time spent in Nekoosa made a deep impression on those she worked with. Keri Anne Steger Aspirus
Keri Anne Steger strives to be the best example of resilience under fire. In 2013, her sister, Kira Steger, was murdered. This single act of domestic violence has catapulted Keri Anne into the role of advocate against domestic violence in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Her hard work has provided opportunities to empower women-in-need. “I wish there had been someone Kira could have gone to – before it was too late. I do this all for her.”
