Our strategic themes are
in place to ensure that our region is working collectively to develop and retain talent. Chamber News
September is Chamber of Commerce Month Governor Scott Walker has proclaimed September to be Chamber of Commerce Month in Wisconsin. Walker made the proclamation at the request of the Wisconsin Chambers of Commerce Executives, a division of the State Chamber that offers professional development and advocacy for local chambers of commerce. “Chambers are central to Wisconsin’s local economies,” said Philip Fritsche, president of the Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce and WCCE Advisory Board Chair. “In most places, the chamber is involved in all major local decision making either as a facilitator or advocate for its members.” Fritsche said that chambers are critical community partners and problem solvers with the unique ability to work with stakeholders from both the private and public sectors.
Chamber Month will culminate on September 27-29 with the annual WCCE Conference, which will be held in Neenah. At least 80 chamber professionals from around the state will attend.

NEED TO TAP INTO A TALENT PIPELINE? Students participating in The Branch innovate solutions to real-world projects for member businesses.
“We gave the students in The Branch the unusual opportunity to help us make a decision usually reserved for a board of directors or senior management. And investing $5,000 in the ten weeks of what was essentially consulting work was a great value for us.”
“The Branch offered an outside perspective and new approach for a solution to an ongoing issue within our organization. The program had an immediate appeal because we have a passion for entrepreneurship, ingenuity, creativity and innovation.”
- Mike Rayome, Director of Human Resources
- Robin Hegg, Senior Vice President/ Chief Human Resources Officer
