ORIENTATION: familiarization with an environment .. .
... THE AMAZON, THE WALL, THE ALL-ABOARD, "CLIMB-A- TREE" ... FUN AND GAMES BEFORE HITTING THE BOOKS Two days before classes started, the new studentsand later the returning students as well - participated in the orientation program. It started on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 6 . New students and their parents began by going through the registration lines. After a dinner and standardized tests, the new students were organized into crews and took part in some "theatre games" and later a square dance.
The next day the crews were involved in a series of "initiative exercises." These included the trust fall, the balance beam, the wall, and a number of other equally strange activities. Following that old and new students were transported to the Fond du Lac County Park at Waupun for a cook-out and impromptu games of volleyball, flag football , and general goofing-off. A rock dance ended the day.

SPIRIT WEEK '77
THE 1977 HOMECOMING COURT: Senior representative Laura Foss escorted by Scott Shearer ('76); Junior Marj Ortloff escorted by Sean Duffy; Freshman Jenny Cobb escorted by Steve Ecker; Sophomore Jensen Buchanen escorted by Mike Manno; King Steve Carver and Queen Shelley Larsen .
Spirit Week, Homecoming, and Parents' Weekend brought a change of pace to the campus. Students participated in class competitions, built effigies, and decorated the buildings - all building toward the variety of athletic events over the weekend. Monday's special event was the "powder puff" football game. The sophomore and senior girls, using some wide sweeps by Lori Fritz and Ann Sensenbrenner, beat the freshman and junior girls. Tuesday was class color day. Freshmen wore blue, the sophomores dressed in red, juniors donned white, and the seniors showed up in green. After classes, the students participated in human pyramid-building. Wednesday was "grub day" and students dresseddown appropriately. In the afternoon, sack races were held followed by the traditional egg-toss contest. Thursday was devoted to effigy-building and campus decorations. Friday was Red and White Day, effigies were completed and moved into position for judging, and parents arrived on campus for teacher conferences. In the evening, following a music program, the annual pep rally was held. Mr. Burnham declared the seniors the winners of the coveted "Spirit Stick." Spirit Week was climaxed on Saturday by the various athletic contests and the 38-0 win by the football team. The Homecoming Dance featured the crowning of Queen Shelley Larsen and King Steve Carver.

I have no yesterdays; time took them away all I have is today -Bancroft
Feelings are like your fingerprints or the color of your eyes or the sound of your voice - unique to yourself and unrepeatable in anyone else.
As we sail across the sea of life, each passing wave brings about a new experience; sometimes they are not always pleasant experiences, sometimes the wind makes those waves pretty turbulent. If one does indeed hear the beat of a different drummer, then one has only to choose. Whether to listen to that which he hears and chase it beyond the stars throughout eternity or listen to that which he is told he hears and waste precious time .
