Mountaineers second in golf

Kings Mountain finished second to Stuart Cramer in Monday’s Big South golf match at Riverbend.

Cramer finished with a 297 score, edging the Mountaineers by three strokes at 300. Crest was third at 350 followed by South Point 355, Ashbrook 363 and North Gaston 442. Hunter Huss competed but didn’t have a team score.

Rich Wills of Cramer was the medalist with a 66.

Caleb Marr led the Mountaineers with a 68. Will Spicer shot 72, Thomas Spicer 77, Josh Gillespie 83 and Baylor Benton 86.

All BSC teams will play at Catawba Creek Golf Club in Gastonia next week. Ashbrook will be the host school.
