WHO’S WHO

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

SUZANNA FOX (Truvy): is very excited to be involved in her second WOB production after having appeared in The Music Man last fall. She recently earned her MFA in Classical Acting from the Shakespeare Theater’s Academy for Classical Acting at The George Washington University. New York credits include the Off Broadway premier of Booth! the Musical, Comedy of Errors, Time After Time, and Grease. She also toured with the hit cabaret Amish Burlesque, originating the role of Apple Betty. This past April, she was given the opportunity to play her favorite role to date when she married her wonderful husband, Dwight, whose limitless love and support have shown her what it truly means to be a partner and friend. ALEXANDRA GARCIA GUYKER (M’Lynn): is thoroughly enjoying her run at WOB, having appeared back-to-back in Footloose (Vi), Season’s Greetings: An Empire Christmas (Mrs. Consuelo), and now Steel Magnolias. Also at WOB, she appeared in Stock♦ing Productions’ Into the Woods, Rocky Horror, and RENT. She recently graduated with her Masters in Acting from the FSU/Asolo Conservatory in Sarasota, FL and moved back home to Maryland to continue performing. Favorite roles have included Maria in Sound of Music, Reno in Anything Goes, Sally in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and the Narrator in Joseph. DENISE LYNN HOOVER (Clairee): has always loved the theatre. She first caught the theatre bug at Walkersville High School, and after 30 years of retirement from the stage she appeared in FtPs Gypsy as the ditzy stripper Tessie Tura. Although she has been involved behind the scenes at Way Off Broadway, helping with some costumes here and there, this is her big debut. She couldn't be more excited to be playing the role of Clairee Belcher in Steel Magnolias and is thrilled to be working with such amazing people. She wants to thank her daughter Jaimie for encouraging her and her family for their support. MELINDA RENEE KINSLOW (Shelby): is making her debut at WOB as Shelby. Other local credits include Walt Whitman's Secret, Arsenic and Old Lace (Elaine Harper), My Fair Lady (Ensemble), and more. Melinda's love for acting doesn't stop with theatre - you can see her as a background actor in The Hunger Games. She is continuously seeking opportunities to develop her craft. Melinda is excited to be part of Way Off Broadway in this incredible story of strong women. Thanks to God for his blessings & for the friendships already gained here at WOB!

RACHEL SILVERT (Annelle): is thrilled to be back at WOB this winter! You may have seen Rachel in WOB's production of The Music Man (Maude Dunlop) this past fall. Rachel is a recent graduate of American University with a degree in Musical Theater. Favorite roles include The Three Sisters (Anfisa) and Talking With (Soloist), which toured to St. Petersburg, Russia, last spring. Many thanks to Way Off Broadway for this wonderful experience and Rachel's family for their neverending love and support. Enjoy the show! GENEVIEVE WILLIAMS (Ouiser): is delighted to return to WOB once again! Last seen as Spider in Jekyll & Hyde, Genevieve is a multi-faceted artist whose work includes stints as a performer, director, writer, and producer. An all around “theatre geek,” her favorite roles include Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, Mama Morton in Chicago, Trix in The Drowsy Chaperone, Joanne in RENT, Sylvia in All Shook Up, Sister Margaretta in The Sound of Music, the voice of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, Aretha Franklin soloist in Beehive, Mabel in The Pajama Game, and Tryshia in The Last Session. ROBERT HARLING (Author): made his directorial debut with The Evening Star for Paramount, which he also wrote for the screen based on Larry McMurty’s novel. The Evening Star reunited Shirley MacLaine and Jack Nicholson and co-stars Juliette Lewis, Bill Paxton, Scott Wolf, Miranda Richardson, and Marion Ross. The Evening Star is the continuation of one of the most beloved and acclaimed movies of our time, Terms of Endearment. Before launching a successful stage and screenwriting career, Robert graduated from Tulane University School of Law, but instead of taking the bar exam, he opted to become an actor in New York. After years of productive work as an actor in voiceovers and commercials, Harling was inspired to write the highly acclaimed stage play Steel Magnolias, which was based on events from his personal life. Steel Magnolias continues to thrive in theatrical productions throughout the world. Immediately bridging a career from stage to screen, Harling adapted his original play into the popular film of the same title, which starred Sally Field, Julia Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Dolly Parton, and Daryl Hannah. Over the years, Mr. Harling has become a much sought-after screenwriter: other credits, to name a few, include Soapdish, which was based on Harling’s acting experience and starred Sally Field, Whoopi Goldberg, and Robert Downey Jr., and First Wives Club for Paramount, starring Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton.
