Talk of The Town Good afternoon everyone and a warm welcome to the Red Industries Stadium for today's FA Cup Preliminary Round game against Leicester Road from the Uhlsport United Counties Premier League South. Although they play at a Step below us in the Pyramid we certainly will not be taking them lightly. If today's game is level after 90 minutes there will be a replay on Tuesday night with extra time and penalties if required. If we get through the draw for the First Qualifying Round is on Monday at 1.00pm. No Replay means that we could be in our travels for the first time this season with a short trip to Runcorn Lingers on Tuesday 7.45pm. If either ourselves or Runcorn draw today that game will be off. We would like to welcome Owen Mooney to the club. Owen is a highly rated young goalkeeper who joins us on Work Experience from Wigan Athletic until after Christmas. We hope that he enjoys his time with us and that the move is beneficial to all parties. We are back down here next Saturday when we will face another club making its first visit to us - City of Liverpool before we make the short trip along the A34 on Bank Holiday Monday to face local rivals Kidsgrove Athletic in what promises to be an entertaining weekend.

View from the Dugout We knew that the start of the season was going to be very tough with some top teams in our opening fixtures with marine and Warrington Rylands our 1st two league games followed by another difficult game today in the FA cup against Leicester Road who were comfortable winners against Walsall Wood in the previous round. It’s an important game as a good FA cup run can bring confidence and momentum in the squad as well as financial incentives early on in the season. Although our 1st couple of games ended in defeat we have seen enough quality and fight in the squad to know that we can compete with the very best in our league and are looking for a positive result this afternoon. Leicester Road will fancy their chances I’m sure so we can expect an entertaining game for the fans. We hope you all have a great afternoon and enjoy our hospitality.
