CLUB HISTORY Abbey Hulton United Football Club was formed 73 years ago in 1947, making it one of the oldest formed clubs still playing Saturday football in North Staffordshire. During its very early days the club played on Council land in the Abbey Hulton area. It continued to use this facility for the first 15 years, despite the fact that the changing facilities were more than a mile away from the actual pitch. In 1962 it was decided that the team should move to the Parks facility at Bucknall Park which was complete with its own changing rooms and showers adjacent to the pitch. What a luxury. The team continued to use Bucknall Park for another 23 years, until 1985. During the period from 1947 to 1985 the team played in many local junior leagues such as: • The Longton League • Fenton and District League • Burslem and Tunstall League • Newcastle and District League They graced all the above leagues with great distinction. Over the years the club became more financially stable and grew in ambition. Finally in 1985 they acquired a piece of land at Birches Head Road on which it was able to obtain a 99 year lease. This is the clubs current address. Immediately, a clubhouse was built containing a bar and changing rooms for both teams and officials. At the same time an outside 5 a-side football facility was built, complete with floodlights. Having moved to this new facility the club opted to join the North Staffs Alliance League. It completed in this leauge before seeking election to one of the top leagues in the area, The Staffs County League (North), in 1987. The team played in this league and finally had a momentous season in 1997-1998 by winning the league, the cup and also the fair play award all in one season. Having achieved this feat the club applied to join what is the top junior league in North Staffordshire, the Staffordshire County Senior League. In 2017 Abbey Hulton United won the Staffordshire County Senior Premier League Championship and were promoted to the North West County Football League.

LATEST NEWS Review - Week Two Games Mon 8th August 2022 | Match Reviews | By Martin Fallon It was a good day for our new sides in the Edward Case Cup with three of the five sides progressing. FC St. Helens had five different scorers in the 5-1 win over Darwen. Joe Barker, Michael Houghton and Liam Bolt put them 3-0 ahead after just 19 minutes. Christopher Lynch pulled one back six minutes into the second-half with Ryan Mason restoring the three goal lead almost immediately. Brad Green secured the win six minutes from time. Euxton Villa scored another four on the road, this time in a 4-2 win at Atherton LR. The home side took the lead through George Chadwick the first minute with Michael Galliers levelling. Patrik Bibby then put Euxton ahead in stoppage time with Lewis Rawsthorne levelling on 48 minutes. Further goals though from George Davis and Matthew Davis put Euxton through. Foley Mia progressed to the next round with a 21 win at roster. The home side took the lead on 33 minutes, however an own goal on 74 minutes levelled things before Jay Finney hit the winner 10 minutes from time. Ashville took an eighth minute lead through Ben green up against eccleshall, however the visitors wrapped up their third successive victory through goals from Jack Flanaghan and Anthony Malbon. A Kyle Wych penalty on 38 minutes gave Stockport Georgians the lead at Abbey Hulton United. Sam Smedley levelled 10 minutes into the second-half with the game finishing 1-1. It was Abbey Hulton who progressed to the next round winning 7-6 on penalties. The final game saw Ellesmere Rangers and Alsager Town draw 0-0, with Ellesmere also winning 7-6 on penalties. A Liam Kennington penalty after 10 minutes gave Barnton the lead with Regan Smith levelling on 26 minutes. Barnton went up the other end to restore the lead through Thomas Edwards, only for Smith to get his second five minutes after the break to ensure the draw.
Golazo is the action packed football board game - easy to learn, but with real tactical depth.

WELCOME TODAY TO
Foley Football Club was founded in 1947 by a group of friends and ex-servicemen from the Foley district of East Fenton, Stoke - on Trent. Everbody interested in forming the football club had a collection and a replica of Arsenal's strip was purchased from the late Les Evans who had a shop in King Street, Longton. Les also donated two lace up "case balls" at the time to help the club along it's way. Les was well known through out the country in sporting circles and was a tremendous friend and benefactor to Foley Football Club who later became president of the club. His death in 1999 was a great loss not only to his family and Foley FC, but to sport in general. Originally, the club was based in premises adjoining the Foley Arms pub in Fenton and players would use facillities at the Ebineezer Chapel in Carron Street , Fenton to change in prior to games at our first ground at "The Open Holes", Goldenhill Road, Fenton. Foley Football Club moved to their present ground in Whitcombe Road, Meir, Stoke-on-Trent in 1982 thanks to first class management from the hard working committee members who have served the club over the years. Since 1982, Foley Football Club have spent in the region of £80,000.00 of it's own hard earned funds in bringing what was essentially a sloping field up to the standard of ground it is today. In November 2001, we opened our prestigious purpose built permanent changing and hospitality facilities. The project was assisted by the Football Association's Football Foundation Grant Aid Scheme with a grant of six thousand pounds. In February 2004, the club was proud to receive Football Association Charter Status. The coming season see's two mini soccer teams, two junior teams an U18s team and the Foley 1sts all playing under the name of Foley Football Club playing in the following leagues: Staffordshire County Senior Leauge, Division one Staffordshire County Minor League Premier Division Potteries Junior Youth League Potteries Mini Soccer league. 2022 Foley Meir Fc gain promotion to step 6 with the NWCFL Division One South.
