Elle Woods has it all: looks, charm, privilege, and the perfect almost-fiancé – until he dumps her for someone more “serious” and heads to Harvard Law School. Determined to win him back, Elle follows him to Harvard, defying everyone’s expectations. As she learns more about law and herself, Elle realizes that she has more potential than she ever imagined, and proves that being true to oneself never goes out of style. Nominated for 7 Tony Awards, Legally Blonde is a bold, bubbly Broadway hit.

Grandmasters of Chess New and returning students are invited! Our chess program has proven excellence in dozens of schools. In each class students are taught different chess concepts and coached to implement those concepts into their chess games. Students practice positions set by the coach to improve their understanding of the concept. Students are given chess puzzles (constructed by WIM Serafima Sokolovskaya) and work with coach guidance to solve them. Each class ends with students playing 20-30 minutes of chess. Coaches often feature in-class tournaments during the session. Youth Enrichment League

Effective Use of familysearch.org Sat., Nov. 2 Mapping and Genealogy Sat., Nov. 9 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Wayzata Central Middle School

Introduction to Genealogy With recent advancements in technology, modern genealogical efforts can be much more productive and rewarding than at any time before. This class will give you a basic introduction to useful techniques and tools for genealogical research. It is not intended to be all-encompassing, but it will help those with an interest in starting or refining their own genealogical research. Genetic Genealogy Genetic genealogy can add a new dimension to your family history efforts. It provides a concrete biological grounding that can be used to confirm your paper trail, to indicate new lines of research, to connect you to cousins that you may not have known about, etc. This class will cover the basics of biology that apply as well as practical advice on testing options and interpretation of results.

Effective Use of familysearch.org Probably the most used free resource for researching family history, familysearch.org is well known to genealogists. However, there are aspects of this resource that are frequently overlooked and underutilized. Learn to take advantage of features other than the obvious ability to perform simple searches through indexed genealogical resources. Topics will include the wiki, non-indexed digital resources, communities, collections, books, etc. Mapping and Genealogy Historical maps can be used to enrich understanding of your ancestors as well as the larger social contexts in which they operated. We will explore various online resources that you can use to acquire historical maps, to analyze land ownership/transfer, and to portray custom representations of the locations of importance to your ancestors.
