Glow-in-the-Dark Art Camp Part II These projects will ROCK your child’s world long after the lights go out at night. You guessed it, all the projects we will create at this camp will glow-in-the-dark! Fortnite Fanatic If your gamer can’t get enough Fortnite, we have the camp for them. We’ll create art inspired by some of the most popular skins of the game, and we’ll use all the best “mats” of the art world: clay, paint, and so much more. We’ve got Brite Bomber, Durr Burger, and P.A.N.D.A. Team Leader. There will be no need for “heals” of any kind at this camp. Glitter and Glow Art Camp Do art projects that glitter or glow-in-the-dark rule supreme in your child’s world? No need for your child to choose when you sign them up for this art camp! We will work with a variety of art supplies including clay, glow-in-the-dark paint, and of course, lots of glitter! Java Minecraft Modding: Infinity Gauntlet Alter the world around you with the real stone, defeat the ender dragon with the power stone, and halve the universe using all six infinity stones. Shape the world to your will and make the universe “perfectly balanced”. Use the Java programming language to create Thanos armor and a working infinity gauntlet. Engineering Aeronautics and Drones Explore flight like never before by flying drones and engineering amazing flying machines! Learn about state of the art flying robotic technology, the four Forces of Flight, Bernoulli’s principle, the effect of properties of air on aircraft and much more! You’ll practice flying drones, hone your skills and join an aerial competition! Students will also engineer multiple aircraft designs to take home, from gliders to propeller propelled planes. Many of today’s engineers spend most of their time in front of a computer: processing, analyzing, and extracting data to help them design, test and improve products and tools. Robotics: Star Wars Droid Builder Bring Star Wars-inspired inventions to life with the Star Wars LEGO® Mindstorms Robotics Developer Kit. We will start with a simple droid mechanism, then move on to more ambitious droids that move and walk.. Magic Beans Camp In Magic Beans, exotic, far-away lands, magical powers and the eternal theme of good versus evil come to life in thrilling engineering, language arts and collaborative communication challenges. Math-By-Mail for Middle School and High School Prep For students entering grades 6-9 in Fall 2019. Created by current middle school math teachers with 40+ years of combined experience! Minnesota State Standards, Math Frameworks, MCA strands, and current Minnesota Benchmarks are the foundation for this curriculum. A pre-test will be mailed by June 25. Students will then receive 8 packets to complete at their own pace. As students finish packets, they are mailed back for feedback and then returned to the students. Summer Math by Mail Keep your math skills sharp this summer! Math by Mail reviews and enriches math concepts for students just completing Kindergarten or 1st grade, or for students who have completed grades 2-5. It offers practice of previously learned concepts to keep skills sharp and build confidence. A pre-test will be sent in mid-June to determine math skills and individualize their program. Participants will then receive 10-weeks of lessons. After students have completed a week’s worth of work, mail it in and we will make corrections, provide comments and mail it back. Kids love receiving their returned assignments each week in the mail! When all lessons are completed, students will receive a restaurant meal coupon. Elementary Track and Field The Wayzata High School Track and Field coaches are offering track meet events for boys and girls in grades K-6. Students will be divided by age group, with the youngest age groups starting first. Ribbons will be awarded to the first six placers in each race. Participants need to bring running shoes and a water bottle. Parents must accompany their child(ren). All participants registered by June 1st will receive a track t-shirt on the first day of the meet. Aaron Berndt

Youth Learn to Row Is your child interested in the great sport of rowing? This camp is a way for Middle and High School students to be introduced to the sport of rowing and learn the basics! Goofy Sports Camp Stay active and get silly this summer in Goofy Sports Camp. What’s so goofy about it? Day One: Goofy Golf - students play “golf” using tennis racquets and balls, a soccer ball, a hula hoop, etc. Day Two: Goofy Trick Shots - students try trick shots using frisbees, trick footballs, and more. Day Three: Goofy Soccer Students play soccer, but with a hula hoop, bean bags, etc. Day Four: Goofy Olympic Decathlon - An Olympic type decathlon, but wackier. Sponsored by Wayzata Community Education, the co-ed competitive badminton team provides opportunities for students to engage in badminton through learning, playing and competing. Students will gain the skills necessary to play at a competitive level through skills training, free play and inter-school tournaments. Participation in competitions around the metro area is encouraged, but not required. Competitions are separate, and participants will register on their own. Mosaic Bird Bath Create a masterpiece for your feathered friends. This bird bath is made with an 8� terra-cotta drip tray. It is decorated with pieces of stained glass then grouted at the next class. It can be placed on the ground, on a wrought iron stand or other fun ideas. We will discuss how to add a water pump for those interested in continuing their project at Open Studio. $20 supply fee is payable to instructor the first night of class. Fused Glass Personalized Name Panel This fun project makes the perfect gift. Personalize a panel with your name, kid’s names or other ideas. Qigong and Meditation for Health This class will introduce a student to the history and meaning of “Qigong”. Loosely translated it means “energy practice”. We will then explore Qigong’s relationship to “Traditional Chinese Medicine” and put that relationship into practice using the Ba Duan Jin (8 Pieces of Brocade). The Ba Duan Jin is an ancient Qigong practice used for health maintenance. This gentle exercise regimen stretches muscles and tendons, improving health and increasing flexibility. It is adaptable to any ability level and can be done in just a few minutes each day. We will also explore relaxation techniques (meditation and breathing).
