Fast Food Culture Making Us Impatient A new study claims that eating fast food makes people impatient even when they are not short of time. Scientists say that chowing down on fast food meals also trigger cravings for instant happiness and reduce the impulse to save money. Researchers say that daily exposure to fast food brands could have a subliminal effect on behavior, making people hurry regardless of whether they are pushed for time. Student volunteers were quickly shown six logos from various fastfood chains. Even when they couldn’t process the logo, the study showed that the students were jittery. – Not sure if the study really says a lot, but I will say I agree with the whole “instant gratification” society. If you stop and observe those around you, people do seem to always be rushed and looking for instant happiness.

Bobcats Have to Eat, Learn & Live with Chartwells Till 2023….. Maybe more. The TSUS Board of Regents authorized Texas State to extend its current food service contract with Chartwells another decade. Originally bid in 1998, and extended in 2004 through 2013, the extension will run until 2023 at no increase in cost. A total of $11,814,000 in capital funds will be allocated for an array of dining hall renovations, including the opening of a new full-service restaurant in the LBJ Student Center on campus. In addition, Chartwells will make in-kind donations and cash contributions totaling $1,820,000 during the extension. Bon apetit!

Thought: This movie will likely end up being a coming-of-middle age comedy that should hit the spot. This reunites four former cast mates of the mid-90’s SNL cast and should be a sweetly funny movie.
Thought: This movie should appeal to those who are fans of the anime series as well as those who enjoy Matrix-style special effects. While this is an M. Night Shyamalan movie it will not have the twists of his other movies since it is based off previous material.
Thought: This sequel of sorts should be enjoyable for those who enjoyed the original and were disappointed in the AVP movies. You have to believe in the script when they are able to bring aboard the cast that they did for this movie. Also look for a new take on the old story.
Thought: This movie from director Christopher Nolan will most likely be a love it or hate it affair. Though the story will cause some to have some memories of Dark City, the plot ought to be wholly original and thought provoking.

Review Solitary Man Review
By: Tiffany Matthews
Michael Douglas’s new movie Solitary Man is another Douglas success. It’s the story of what happens to Ben Kalmen (Michael Douglas) after he reaches extreme business success and then extreme business failure that he is trying to turn back around. Life has caught up to Ben and his self indulgent lifestyle is no longer working for him. His exwife (Susan Sarandon) loved him but has long since given up on him. His daughter (Jenna Fisher a.k.a. Pam from The Office) still believes he can change and be a grandpa to her son even though he was hardly a father to her. Ben takes his girlfriend’s daughter to visit her college of choice, his alma mater, to get her in good with the dean. He meets a clueless young college boy (Jesse Eisenberg) and decides to show him the ropes of how to be a man, or at least how he thinks a man should be. Ben also reconnects with his old college buddy (Danny DeVito) who is one of the few people who hasn’t given up on Ben. Solitary Man is a solid movie with a top notch cast and top notch performances by all. It is now playing at the Regal Arbor at Great Hills in Austin. If the box office numbers are good (which they should be) this should open at theaters everywhere in the near future. If not, this is one you don’t want to miss on DVD.

The Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 is not only waterproof up to 33 feet but its crush-proof (220lbs.), freeze-proof (14˚F), shock-proof (6.6 ft drop), has an HD movie mode (720P). You would have to TRY and break this bad boy. So next time you’re tubing, you can throw this camera in the cooler with the beer and it’ll ready at a moment’s notice. Add an Olympus Float Case or Floating Foam Strap (19.99 each) and the only thing you’ll worry about is the envy of your friends. $399 (Model: Tough 8010)
Sanyo - Xacti WH1 Waterproof High-Definition Digital Camcorder w/2.5” LCD Monitor The Kodak is nice but the Sanyo is better. Like the Kodak, it is waterproof up to 10ft, 720P resolution, and has image stabilization. What the Kodak doesn’t have is the 30x optical zoom, 3 hour 20 minute battery life (!), and face-detection for up to 12 people. If you’re in need of a truly grown-up waterproof camera, this is the one. Period. $399

David Cosner has a condition. It has a funny name. It doesn’t have a funny prognosis. But, as the old saying goes, behind every dark cloud there’s a silver lining. In this case, Cosner’s condition is why Texas State nearly caught a national championship in April. To understand, you have to go back to Cosner’s sophomore year in high school. Coming off a season as captain of his school’s JV lacrosse team and Offensive MVP, David knew what he wanted to do with his life. “I was planning to go to college out of state on a lacrosse scholarship,” he explained. Life had other plans. On a summer trip to California with his family, Cosner developed health problems. A cold, a runny nose, nothing too severe. Decongestants would help for a little while. As time went on, Cosner’s health worsened. Trips to the doctor ensued. Most told him he was just suffering a cold or had allergies. Some prescribed allergy medicines, others an antibiotic. Nothing helped. By September 2006 the 6’3” Cosner had dropped forty pounds from his frame and weighed in at a sickly 120. In addition, he had developed a bad cough and chest pains. “Once I was lying in my bed,” Cosner recalled. “Blood was coming out of my nose, ears and eyes. I was in terrible shape.” Another trip to another doctor. This time, a battery of tests- cat scans of the sinuses, biopsies, etc. This time a different diagnosis was made- a rare condition known as Wegener’s granulomatosis. Wegener’s granulomatosis isn’t cancer, nor is it an infection. While its cause isn’t known, the condition restricts blood flow to various organs and particularly affects the lungs, kidneys and upper respiratory system. Caught soon enough, recovery is possible, but it can also be fatal. Generally speaking, people with the condition have a life expectancy of 8-10 years. “I didn’t think it was as serious as it was,” said Cosner. “A couple days after my 17th birthday, I was admitted to the hospital and started on chemotherapy.” Cosner’s budding lacrosse career came to a screeching halt. A bigger fight was now in David’s future. Still, you can’t take away the competitive spirit of an athlete. David Cosner turned back to another sport he had learned at a young age. “I started fishing with my dad when I was eight years old,” according to Cosner. “We learned the sport together.” At the age of ten, Cosner and his father started entering tournaments through the Austin Bass Club. David had let bass fishing fall by the wayside when lacrosse grabbed his attention in high school. Now with those dreams a victim of Wegener’s granulomatosis, fishing became his focus again. Upon graduating high school, instead of going to college out of state, Cosner’s health kept him close to his Austin home and he chose Texas State. Arriving on campus last year, Cosner discovered there was no bass fishing club on campus. He resolved to change that. He
12 | BobcatFans Magazine
approached the college about starting up a club. At first, he had to explain what tournament bass fishing was all about. Eventually, the administration gave its OK for the club. Cosner and his partner, senior Jay McCollum, were the first members of the Texas State Bass Fishing Club. The charter members numbered only ten. Being a club sport not under the purview of NCAA regulations, the club can enter tournaments and win money. Half the winnings go to the University, the other half to the club. In less than a year, the Texas State Bass Fishing Club has grown to over thirty members. “We have an inter-club tournament every month,” said Cosner. “Teams accrue points and the highest boater and non-boater go to the national championships.” By earning the most points, Cosner and McCollum qualified for the National Guard FLW College Fishing National Championship in Knoxville, Tennessee. The three-day tournament allows five fish to be caught per day per team. The highest total weight of the 15 fish wins the tournament. At the end of Day One, the team from San Marcos found themselves in fourth place out of 25 teams. A great day on Day Two saw the Bobcat Anglers leap to first place. In the end, the University of Florida topped Texas State by a mere nine ounces. Still, second place was enough to earn $50,000 in prize money. Every angler has a “One That Got Away” story. Cosner has two from the National Championship tournament. He says if either one of the two that got away on the third day had been landed, Texas State would have won the $100,000 grand prize money and a sweet maroon and gold custom-made bass boat. Now people are starting to recognize the Bass Fishing Club, including the University. “Once they saw the exposure we were getting, how the sport was growing and all the colleges that were involved, they couldn’t be happier,” said Cosner. David even has to deal with fame. “I’ve been walking in Cabelas and Academy with my Texas State jersey on and people will say, ‘Hey, you’re Dave Cosner!’” he reported. “People asking for your autograph. It’s definitely hard to believe!” All this success because of a rare condition that changed the course of Dave Cosner’s college career. Since his diagnosis, Cosner has had dozens of surgeries on his eyes, nose and lungs. He’s had 2/3 of his right lung removed, takes a regimen of twenty pills a day and is hooked to a machine for 7-8 hours once a week in four-week cycles. “At this point, it’s something I’ll have to live with for the rest of my life,” said Cosner. Still, he has aspirations for his life after college. “The ultimate dream job would be to be able to get up in the morning and go fishing,” Cosner proclaimed. “I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than be a professional angler. Bass fishing is really the pinnacle of tournament fishing.” Fortunately for Texas State, Cosner still has three years of school left to bring a national championship home to San Marcos before the pros call.
“I’ve been walking in Cabelas and Academy with my Texas State jersey on and people will say, ‘Hey, you’re Dave Cosner!’” he reported. “People asking for your autograph. It’s definitely hard to believe!”

It was a lawless trip down the river complete with loud music, Jell-o shots, and the occasional antics reminiscent of Bourbon Street
B Photo L y: Jeff
I grew up two hours southwest of Fort Worth, spending my summers working and drinking beer along the banks of a stagnant creek. It was the type of place where you might get waist deep in the water, or jump off of a rope swing. But, we never floated around on an inner tube.
To be completely honest, I knew nothing about ‘toobing’ when I came to San Marcos. My first spring in Bobcat Country was spent between the banks of the San Marcos, Guadalupe, and Comal Rivers. I was shocked by the clarity of the water, and how it called to you during a warm April day. After I completed Spring Finals, I called my friends from around the state, and told them that they needed to spend a weekend in the Texas Hill Country. So a couple of years ago we decided to get together and camp along Guadalupe River for Memorial Day weekend. We made it to the third crossing of the Guadalupe early Saturday afternoon. It was a lawless trip down the river complete with loud music, Jell-o shots, and the occasional antics reminiscent of Bourbon Street, Spring Break, or a Girls Gone Wild video. By the time we made it back to our campground, we were dehydrated and starving. Some people replenished with water and Gatorade while others continued with the beer as we ate dinner and
14 | BobcatFans Magazine
hung out around the fire until everyone eventually passed out.
The next morning we were awakened up by the crack of thunder and the splash of heavy rain. We staggered out of our tents and quickly put up some additional tarps, but we were too late. Like a bunch of idiots, we forgot to put the food back in the coolers and under the tarps before we passed out for the night. All of our open supplies—bread, chips, and other snacks—were ruined. The only thing that made it through the storm was unopened packages of meat for that night’s dinner. And just when we thought that it was as bad as it was going to get, we were briefly pounded with hail. We huddled under the tarps and decided to ride out the storm. The sky cleared up around noon, and we met with the outfitter for our second run down the river. The temperature soared into the mid-90s; making it the perfect day for a lazy float. The float was going great, until one of the girls in our group decided to drink an entire box of wine. She got loud, and then she got sick. The hot sun and that river-chilled wine made the last leg of the float very entertaining. We helped her to the bus, and proceeded back to our camp. Everyone gathered their belongings, got off of the bus, and we took a headcount. As the bus drove off, we realized that the wine drinker had
oftin
Guadalupe Goodtimes
stayed in her seat. Apparently, it took her a quarter-of-a-mile to come to the same realization. We saw the brake lights come on, and our friend staggered off. The sun set on our campsite, and we sat around the fire pit playing cards, telling jokes, and just hanging out. The night grew longer, and the numbers thinned as people went to sleep. Things were quiet until we started to hear some moans coming from one of the tents. My former roommate and his wife had been inspired by the Guadalupe’s beauty and the alcohol. Those who setup their tents next to the couple soon regretted that decision as the noises grew louder, continuing into the night. Monday morning, we packed up and headed our separate ways. The weekend was filled with challenges—rain, wine, and horny campers—but everyone had a great time. The events that transpired have since become some of the stories that we continue to joke about today. Toobing the river with a large group of friends is something that everyone needs to do at least once in their life. Just remember that when you do, just make sure you are properly prepared for anything to happen, because it probably will.

mile dam All Grown Up
Back when I was attending Texas State (when pads were made of paper and the web was a home for a spider) there was Five Mile Dam. It was a great place to cool off but could also get a little wild. I was in more than one four wheel drive truck that got stuck trying to cross the Blanco River and while there were families there it was mostly students just out for a cool party. Fast forward almost 30 years. Five Mile Dam and the parks around it are still there but it’s a very different place with a very different vibe. It’s still a great place to cool off, one of the few places you can lay on the top of a dam or stand in the water leaning against it, but it’s more about families and less about party. First, no alcohol. “There are county ordinances in the park that alcohol is not allowed as well as glass containers. It was a very big problem of getting that out, we still do have somewhat of a problem with that, a problem with that,” according to Hays County Parks Director Jerry Pinnix. “I believe it’s a family park, in fact we’ve had patrons of the park who have called police a couple of times for drug related instances at the park. I feel like we’ve taken back the park for the people.” Something that I didn’t know is that alcohol has always been banned from Hays County parks but there wasn’t a lot of strict enforcement. Pinnix changed that. “We have had to work real hard. I was the bad guy for a long time. It is now being enforced and you can get a citation for it. If I catch you out there I’ll have you pour out all of your alcohol on the ground and I usually do that in a way that the most people can see so I can get the biggest bang for your advertising dollar and I’ll ask you to leave the

park. You can do your drinking before, you can do your drinking after, just don‘t bring alcohol into the park.” There are a lot of changes in the way the place looks too. Civilization has found Five Mile Dam. The new Blanco Vista is next door and the parks department is building a huge soccer complex right across the road that will open in September. “The new park property will be opening somewhere around September First. We have to keep everybody off those fields so the grass can mature.” Pinnix says “I want people to get used to the new layout of the land. The main entrance needs to be used and it’s one way in, one way out.” What used to be the entrance in now blocked off but folks have been parking then walking in. You need to go a few more feet down the road and you’ll see the new main entrance with a new brick sign. So in order to make the place family friendly a lot of other amenities have been added right next to the Blanco. Pinnix says “We’ve added two canoe/kayak launches and an improved sand beach area. In Randall Vetter Park which is downstream from Dudley Johnson Park we put three shade structures up, all the picnic sites at Vetter’s park have trash facilities and bar-b-cue grills.” More amenities are coming but one thing to remember is since everything is right next to a river it’s all in a floodplaine so that limits what can and can’t be put next to the dam. So with time all things change. It seems like Five Mile Dam has grown up a little but its still one of the coolest places to get cool during the summer.

Fantasy Corner So it is that time of year when that ultimate of sporting events takes place. The time when champions are made and fortunes are made or lost. It is the time that unites and divides friends at the same time. It is time for fantasy football.
Fantasy Corner By: Erik J. Helsing
But wait, I thought football season didn’t start for another two months. While this is true, now is the time that you really need to start paying attention to what is going on in the NFL. Training camps are about to open and the next sleeper pick that may complete your roster may be out there. It is also when you will find out who the possible busts are. Not to mention who is coming off of injuries strong or who may need more time. With all this in mind here are a few helpful tidbits that I have learned over the past few years of playing fantasy football.
Read Multiple Publications. Every year there are more and more publications telling you what players to pick. Which one should you read? The answer is that you should look at a few. Most of them will have the marquee players in roughly the same order, but as you get deeper into the draft you have wildly varying opinions on where players should go where. The best solution is to try and average out where these players are ranked so that you can make the best possible draft board. Also utilize websites to get the most up-to-date information on injuries.
Fill All Starting Positions Before Back-ups Last year I found myself in the situation of having a feature running back available in the 3rd round after I had already picked both Maurice Jones-Drew and Frank Gore. What I really needed at the time was a quarterback and there were plenty of good ones still available. However I picked Ryan Grant and threw my draft board completely off. That one decision affected the rest of my draft and ultimately my season. Based on this one decision I ended up with a fleet of number 2 Wide Receivers and was weak at the position almost all season.
I
Beware of High Profile Sleeper Picks Last year every publication I read had Anthony Gonzalez as the breakout Wide Receiver. The problem with this is when everyone projects him to have a breakout season, he is no longer really a sleeper. Not to mention he ended up getting injured for the year in the first game.
Kickers are Interchangeable Simple as that. While you get some who are more accurate than others, for the most part, most kickers will be accurate up to 40 yards and will make the PAT. So you should wait until the last round to pick a kicker. The best advice for picking one should be try finding one whose team will put him in position to kick make able field goals. By following these simple rules, you should be able to draft a team that will help keep you competitive this season.

Play up and Go West? In just ten years, Boise State University went from the obscurity of a Division I-AA (now called FCS) conference to the center of national attention after two BCS bids. The Broncos, and their blue field, became the face of Western Athletic Conference (WAC) football. Their complete domination of the league garnered some national attention, but it was their victory over Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl that cemented their title as a ‘BCS Buster’. The Bobcat faithful hope that we will be able to accomplish the same thing with our ‘Drive to FBS’. Many Texas State faithful dreamed of a WAC invite, and an opportunity to see a Broncos and Bobcats matchup. This dream seemed to be gaining some traction when the WAC Commissioner, Karl Benson, mentioned Texas State as a potential expansion candidate in May 2010. However, In June 2010, Boise accepted an invitation to leave the WAC for the Mountain West Conference in 2011. Benson’s interviews in New Mexico and Hawaii mentioned Texas State by name, and suggested that “anything west of Ruston, Louisiana is WAC territory”. This news came at the perfect time for many Bobcat fans who were worried that our ‘Drive’ had stalled out. The media in Austin rarely mentioned anything about

our athletic achievements, and the San Antonio Express News had turned their focus on the UTSA Roadrunners and their push to start an FBS football program. With Boise out the door after next season, I think Texas State should do everything in their power to replace them in the Western Athletic Conference and bring some media attention back to San Marcos. The WAC consists of nine schools from Hawaii to Louisiana. Currently, it is home to ‘BCS Busters’ Boise State and Hawaii as well as the 2008 College World Series Champion Fresno State. It sponsors nineteen sports and is no stranger to the post season. The conference has sent 27 teams to bowl games since 2001, it has won 7 National Titles on the diamond, and
had multiple bids to March Madness 23 of the last 26 years. It does an excellent job of marketing itself nationally, and making sure that its championship tournaments are accessible to fans. The WAC signed a television contract with ESPN that guarantees 300 regular season games and 45 championship events will be shown on their family of networks through 2017. This increased media presence has the potential to broadcast Bobcat athletics (and Texas State) into millions of households from coast to coast. While some conference tournaments are hosted by WAC members, a few sports (including basketball, baseball, and

volleyball) move their tournaments between major metropolitan areas throughout the West. Previous sites have included Salt Lake City, The Bay Area, and Albuquerque. In 2010, the volleyball tournament was held in Las Vegas, golf and baseball in Phoenix, and basketball in Reno, Nevada. Hosting the tournaments in these cities increases media exposure and creates a reward for teams and their fans. In football, The WAC has agreements with four bowl games annually—The Humanitarian bowl in Boise, the Hawai’i bowl in Honolulu, the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque, and the Poinsettia bowl in San Diego. In addition, the WAC Champion can receive an automatic birth to a BCS bowl if they finish in the Top 12 of the BCS standings. WAC Teams have ‘crashed’ the BCS for the past three years with trips to the Fiesta and Sugar Bowls. Some Bobcat fans have advocated that we join a conference with regional peers to facilitate travel between games and build new rivalries. They complain that joining the WAC will tax our travel budget, and that our fans won’t be able to travel with the team (nor will opponents come to San Marcos). They claim that we are not a geographic fit for the conference, and that we should push for the Sun Belt Conference. The Sun Belt has nine teams within 1,000 miles instead of the two (Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State) that the WAC can currently offer. However, we can look at other Texas schools like TCU and UT-El Paso as role models as we try to distinguish ourselves from our regional peers. TCU could easily reduce their travel if they joined SMU, Rice, and Houston in Conference USA. Likewise, UT-El Paso could leave C-USA for games in New Mexico and Utah. Both of these teams have produced successful athletic programs over the last five years because they’ve been able to separate themselves from their regional peers by selling something different. Sometimes you have to shy away from the easy path to achieve something extraordinary. If the Bobcats take Boise’s spot in the Western Athletic Conference, we would be the only school in the Lone Star State that offered an annual excuse to gamble in Nevada, ski in Utah, fish in Idaho, take in the bay-area and wine country of California, or just relax on the beaches of Hawaii. That is something that the Big XII, Conference USA, and the Sun Belt cannot offer. As Broncos ride off into the sunset, let’s take this opportunity to pounce on the opening. When the NCAA moratorium is lifted next year, Texas State should fight for an invite to the Western Athletic Conference.

Time for a little River & Barbecue!
Outdoor cookouts and river trips are a great opportunity to relax and visit with family and friends. However, the average barbecue meal exceeds 1500 calories, almost an entire day’s worth of calories in one meal. This can add unwanted inches to your waist line over the course of the summer. The summer doesn’t have to be fattening. In fact, with a few small changes you can turn summer into the perfect opportunity for weight loss. So before you slather on the sun screen, head to the river, and fire up your grill, read the following tips to lighten up this summer.
Healthy On the Grill
Try this recipe for a good main dish during your next barbecue:
Sunny Day Grilled Chicken Serve this delicious grilled chicken at your next barbecue. The honeymustard glaze has a wonderful tangy flavor. Remember to add healthy side dishes for a summer meal that will satisfy without weighing you down.
Servings: 6
Here’s what you need...
4 Tablespoons honey 4 Tablespoons spicy mustard 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel 2 teaspoons low-sodium soy sauce 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
www.BobcatFans.com
1.Pre-heat your grill. If using coals, heat until the coals turn gray and there are no longer strong flames, 35-45 minutes.
2.Combine honey, mustard, lemon peel, soy sauce and garlic. Mix well. Reserve a few tablespoons of the sauce. Add chicken and marinate in the refrigerator for 40 minutes.
3.Cook the chicken 5 to 6 minutes per side. Brush with the reserved sauce, and continue cooking for an additional 3 to 4 minutes per side, until chicken registers 170 degrees on a meat thermometer. Nutritional Analysis: One serving equals: 183 calories, 2g fat, 13g carbohydrate, 0g fiber, and 28g protein.
Grilling is actually a very healthy way to cook meat. Of course the type of meat that you choose will make all of the difference. Instead of the traditional burgers and hot dogs, try to marinade with low fat dressing, make hamburgers with extra-lean beef, take the skin off chicken before grilling, replace beef patties with ground turkey patties, grill up salmon or cod, forego the meat and grill veggie burgers, or choose lean cuts of poultry, beef, or pork.
Healthy Beverages
Most people don’t realize that beverages play a big role in summer weight gain. Margaritas, beer, soda pop and punch all contain tons of empty calories. Try drinking water, stick with light beer if you really want a beer, or brew unsweetened ice tea and serve with lemon. For more information on achieving or maintaining the body you deserve please contact HH Fitness by email at HHFitness@gmail.com or by phone at 512-787-2219. Healthy Side Dishes
Barbecue side dishes are typically filled with one thing – fat, and this is where most people run into trouble. Creamy coleslaw and potato salad can contain as much as 15 grams of fat per serving. Make veggie kabobs and grill them, replace regular mayo with low-fat mayo, serve fresh salad with light vinaigrette, try whole-grain macaroni for your pasta salad, grill up corn on the cob, or put out a veggie tray with low fat dip for healthier sides
Healthy Desserts
Yes, there are ways to satisfy your sweet tooth while staying healthy. Think outside of the box instead of turning to the typical fattening options like ice cream, pie, cake or cookies. Satisfy your sweet tooth with grilled mango, banana and pineapple on kabobs. Stick with sorbet instead of ice cream, replace peach pie with grilled peach halves, or choose light ice cream over regular.

Carson
Smith
The “Bobcats of Spring” won their last game of the regular season to cap their run for another SLC regular season title. Which means the end of the year is upon us. But before we close up shop until the fall we need to recognize a player who helped get the ‘Cats to where they are now. This month’s Player of the Month is pitcher Carson Smith. Carson came to Texas State from Midland via Grayson County College. In 2008 Smith won District MVP. That same year he was also named 1st Team All-State. He has continued to shine in his first season with State. Smith has had a phenomenal year, pitching over 100 innings while maintaining a 2.69 ERA and posting a 9-3 record. Even more impressive is his strikeout to hit ratio. Smith has managed to strikeout 90 batters while only giving up 82 hits. This season he has also managed to only give up 38 runs with 30 of those being earned. He has also managed to hold opponents to a paltry .227 batting average. In Carson’s last regular season start he pitched a four hit shutout against UTA to bring the Bobcats back into sole possession of 1st place in the SLC, where they ended up staying to finish the season. As the season has come to an end Carson has been invited to try out for Team USA beginning July 6th. He also received Southland Conference’s Pitcher of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors. Look for Carson to build on this success not just for Texas State, but for the good old U.S. of A and to do the Bobcat name proud..
