NIR Update

Update from National Immunisation Register (NIR) Team Thank you for continuing your catch up programme on the 12m and 15m childhood immunisations. These have become overdue following the October change in the Childhood Immunisation Schedule. NIR are still keeping these overdue notices off your ImmsNet Overdue reports so you can work through your catchup programmes. They will be reviewing this next year following consultation with Childhood Immunisation Coordinators and your GPL team. NIR are now sending MSD requests for demographic updates for those children who our OIS team have found as ‘Gone No Address’. NIR are hoping to be able to clear up some of the children who are unable to be found and if they are out of the area they will be taken off your NIR allocation. NIR protocols are always being reviewed to ensure they work for everyone appropriately. NIR have noted the overdue reports for 15m immunisations are showing children overdue at 16.5m but current protocols are only allowing referral at 18m. Moving forward NIR will now accept overdue referrals for 15m immunisations from 16.5m as per NIR overdue timelines. Thank you to all those practices who are responding to ImmsNet reports – early referrals and correction of immunisation history on NIR is helping to ensure your hard work is reflected in MOH data. Please continue to call Kerri or Suzanne – your Childhood Immunisation Coordinators or the NIR if you have any queries.
