1 Purpose The purpose of this document is to provide an overview on how to login to DynaMed Plus.

2 DynaMed Plus Overview HealthShare, on behalf of MURIAL have subscribed to EBSCO’s DynaMed Plus, a point-of-care reference resource.

2.1 Features Some key Features of DynaMed Plus include: •

The following ANZ - relevant information: o ANZ Guidelines and Resources including the New Zealand Guidelines Group and the New Zealand Ministry of Health as well as professional bodies such as Australian and New Zealand Colleges) is included and clearly linked to in the Guidelines section within each topic o Drug topics in DynaMed Plus come from Micromedex, See https://www.ebsco.com/newscenter/press-releases/dynamed-plus-now-features-micromedex for more detail. Links out to Drugdex are built in for subscribing institutions o Patient information from NZ resource DermNetNZ The methodology used within DynaMed Plus is completely evidence-based. DynaMed Plus has editorial teams and a system of quality control and peer review in collaboration with McMaster University. Content is written using a 7-step evidence-based methodology which ensures consistency and objectivity. It starts with a process of systematic literature surveillance to monitor emerging evidence in answer to the core clinical questions underlying each topic. The most valid and clinically relevant articles are critically appraised to assess strength of evidence, then multiple evidence reports are synthesised and summarized, the summaries are integrated with DynaMed Plus content, and overview statements and outline structure are updated based on the overall evidence synthesis. DynaMed Plus is updated continuously, multiple times daily. Not only are topics update when new guidelines or evidence is published, Dynamed Plus also indicates exactly what the update was, what journal it came from, provides a link to the abstract or full text where available, and provides a link to the specific section of the DynaMed Plus topic where the update can be found. DynaMed Plus has excellent alerting functionality. DynaMed Plus alerts allow users interested in specific specialties or content to be alerted when topics are updated. Alerts can be set up to follow a specific topic, all updates within a specialty, or only practice-changing updates within a specialty. This means a user does not have to check DynaMed Plus for updates every day – DynaMed Plus lets them know when content of interest has changed.

2.2 Accessibility You can access DynaMed Plus anytime, anywhere, on any device. Log in from home, the office, your practice or hospital and you’re in. You can also save your password for even quicker access. Dynamed Plus can be accessed via a Mobile device as well as a desktop (PC/Laptop) The mobile app gives full offline access to all content thus making it truly available at the point of care and need.
