Seeking research participants
We are seeking people with experience of the assisted dying (euthanasia) service in Aotearoa
Assisted dying, also called euthanasia, is now legally available to people who meet the eligibility criteria.
Do you have experiences you are willing to share with us? This is a sensitive topic. Our study provides an opportunity for patients to have their voices heard on this important end-of-life option.
We would like to hear from people who:
→ formally applied with the Ministry of Health who were assessed as eligible, ineligible or changed your mind, or
→ asked for assisted dying from a health professional but were told that you couldn’t or shouldn’t apply for some reason.
People from many diverse communities, like people living with an impairment, disability, or are Deaf, are invited to participate so we can understand how the service can meet your requirements.
We would like to interview you over Zoom or phone. All information is confidential.
If you’re willing to be involved, please email us at assisteddyingresearch@vuw.ac.nz, phone 04 887 3140, or find more information on our Assisted Dying Research Network website. Koha will be given.
