Thank you to those of you who were able to atend our last PHO Forum on June 21st!

A special thank you to Leanne Hall and Ashleigh Dick who presented on the changes in community pharmacy services. They covered eligibility for minor aliment services, the new free prescripons starng on July 1st, funded and unfunded services community pharmacists can now provide to help relieve some pressures on primary healthcare, and controlled drug prescripon changes.

Phil and Claire shared informaon on the soon-to-come System Pressure Planned Care (POAC) to help relieve Winter Pressures with the inial phase of this project running through the end of September.

We also heard from Phil on Aer Hours developments and had Jess White and Dr Emma Calvert from Pracce Plus share more about their telehealth services, which provide a high quality, accessible service that can relieve some of the pressures on our primary healthcare service providers.

Finally, Claire provided the group with some PHO clinical updates including that the HPV Primary Screening is on track for GO-LIVE on July 26 and Te Pa Harakeke Clinic is moving to Greerton next to the Greerton Countdown on July 4. She also shared the most recent guidance on Covid mask wearing in healthcare sengs; all of which is recommended for most people in all healthcare sengs except for visitors/support people sll being mandated to wear masks. There have also been a few changes in the medicines space with cilazapril not being funded aer the end of this year, methylphenidate and dexamfetamine can now be prescribed every three months instead of every month, and fentanyl, tramadol, zopiclone, and zolpidem are being rescheduled as higher classes of controlled drugs. The Long-Acng Reversible Contracepon (LARC) process has been updated to align with naonal guidance and online training modules, info on maintaining competency, and updated resources can all be found in the forum’s presentaon slides and recording linked below. Holisc care and support for women with health problems related to pelvic surgical mesh is now available through a new naonwide service A quick reminder that Rangiora Health Hub, the free, walk-in

immunisaon centre located in Fraser Cove Shopping Centre, is available for general pracces to direct paents to when you are at capacity or receive requests from casual/unenrolled paents.
