Nurses hold a trusted position, privy to personal information about patients and expected to uphold the integrity of the nursing profession. Therefore, registered nurses’ use of social media has the potential to breach professional boundaries, breach privacy, and damage trust the public have in the nursing profession. This session is aimed to promote safe use and increase awareness of risks when registered nurses use SMS in their personal and professional lives.

Topic FOCUS ON BIOFILMS: AN EMERGING MEDICAL CHALLENGE Infections associated with bacterial biofilm growth are usually challenging to eradicate. This forum will focus on introducing the concept of how bacterial biofilms are produced and how they pose problems in the medical setting. It will also outline important strategies that medical personnel can employ in order to prevent and control its undesirable effects to patient treatment and care.
