Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Western Bay of Plenty Primary Health Organisation (WBOP PHO) provides comprehensive health care for adolescents in a schoolbased health clinics in 12 high schools, including alternative education facilities and our Teen Paren Unit across the WBOP region. We are seeking a General Practitioner or experienced Nurse Practitioner with a passion and experience in working with adolescents to work alongside the registered nurse at Papamoa College clinic. This role is a part-time contractor role of 2 hours per week over 4 school terms (40 weeks). Hours and days of work are flexible. The everyday mahi includes: • • • •

Weekly delivery of adolescent health clinical services to students at Papamoa College Contributing leadership to the health and wellness development of students at the school. This may include from time to time, teaching sessions to smaller cohorts of students. Providing appropriate school based clinical primary health care services to students, particularly Māori and other identified priority cohorts. Providing a holistic/wellness approach to meeting the specialised needs of adolescents by improving the physical, mental, psychosocial health status of high need young people including: • Assisting in the reduction of unplanned pregnancies. • Reducing the incidence of STI’s. • Health prevention activities; and • Appropriate referral to mental health, social service and other services as required.

Full medical or Nurse Practitioner registration and a current practising certificate Relevant experience Excellent interpersonal and team skills

WBOP PHO is a not-for-profit health care organisation focused on supporting and delivering community-based primary health care and wellness services directly to consumers and through supporting general practice networks and other providers across the Bay of Plenty Rōhe from Katikati to Ōpōtiki.
