AT

CHURCH
June 17, 2010 I am writing you for your support. We need advertisers, title-sponsors and group endorsements of our new project. This program is a solution to an urgent crisis now with budget cuts, school and summer programs closing down. It is intended to stimulate, keep alive and support school appreciation, reading, writing, listening skill and viewing skills and to motivate and to support children from 5-10 years old (K- 4th grades) in learning critical thinking and grade-level performance standards for promotion. All children need to read out loud and think out aloud about everything that they take the time to read and watch today. This is how we get to know them as independent thinkers and learners. This SEP home and school study unit helps young learners to engage the work of a young poet named, TyVion Harris and think. When you follow the study guide for the lesson young learner will then “learn how-to respond to an author and his literature” just like in school. This kind of English Language Arts practice activity with your state standards will then serve to increase critical thinking about viewing, listening, response to poetry, and familiarity with grade level expectations in English for everyone involved. The added value of this educational DVD is accomplished when we make certain that loving and caring older siblings, family members and concerned friends also help and even learn to present and “teach” younger learner this program. “Each one, teach one” was once the primary mode of education in the U.S. schools where all age studied in the same small quarters. We invite any and all of you who are reading this to teach this lesson after you carefully review each section and study it for your own ideas.
This program is designed for Connecticut, New York State, North Carolina, Virginia but profoundly, Dr. Huntley here in Atlanta, who leads the Southern Education Fund (SEF) http://www.sefatl.org/ has a new report which says, “Poverty and lack of a good education beget poverty and inequality. The South is in the throes of a self-perpetuating vicious cycle. Already home to 40 percent of the nation’s poor people, most of whom lack the skills to earn livable wages in the emergent technology- and information-driven global economy, the South urgently needs not only to improve but also to transform its public education systems”. The report adds, “No one can seriously believe that the future will be bright when public school students, as a group, are dropping out in record numbers, failing to achieve to high standards, lacking in counseling, health and other services, going to college in small numbers, and failing disproportionately to graduate from college”. Everyone of us needs to come together for the best interest of our children, our American future. This series of topics below will also be encouraged in our project to improve neighborhood by neighborhood awareness to the profound educational needs of our times. Join us to support families and schools in needs to truly Close Educational Achievement Gaps! The circled listings below are address specifically in program. THANKS, W. TRAIN-THE-TRAINER PROGRAM This is part of larger “Train the Trainer” Program where we conduct with clients and train vested program partners to engage along with 3rd Grade ELA early intervention project Study Guide and then American topical Achievement Gaps in Discussion on Education. Training can be ongoing and forever updated for a fee.
1) We will use this outline to engage 12 basic discussions to develop critical thinking skills. 2) The discussions will be supported by our usual SEP Awareness Themes (Readinessto-Learn etc) and decrease resistance to schooling and counter-academic, and deviant attitudes and behaviors this summer in the face of tremendous youth program cutbacks.
3) Those that use and partner with the new SEP 3rd Grade project will help to support new infrastructure to be used during the school year for face-to-face on site activities and online learning.
