WHAT HAS WISCONSIN CLEAN CITIES BEEN UP TO?

Wisconsin Clean Cities Goes to Washington Wisconsin Clean Cities represented Wisconsin by attending the Transportation Energy Partnership Meeting held in Washington D.C. late February 2015. A variety of national trade associations that represent America's alternative fuel and vehicle industries signed a joint letter to the Senate and House Energy & Water Appropriations Subcommittees in support of funding the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Clean Cities Program. View Article Wisconsin Clean Cities Attends Green Truck Summit & Sustainability Summit Wisconsin Clean Cities attended the Green Truck Summit held in Indianapolis early March along with the Sustainability Summit that was held in Milwaukee where Lorrie Lisek, Executive Director of WCC, moderated a transportation session. Wisconsin Clean Cities Hosts Free Training for First Responders Wisconsin Clean Cities held four free first responder training for alternative fuel courses throughout Wisconsin March 17-20 where 80 first responders participated. WCC is looking to host additional first responder training in Wisconsin later this year.

FEATURED MEMBER Odyne Systems, LLC

ABOUT ODYNE SYSTEMS, LLC Odyne is a leader in hybrid drive systems for medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Odyne’s advanced plug-in hybrid technology enables trucks over 14,000 pounds to have substantially lower emissions, improved performance, quieter work site operation, lower fuel consumption and reduced operating and maintenance costs. Odyne has fielded more plug-in hybrid systems for large trucks throughout the United States than any other supplier. Odyne systems are modular and are integrated to powertrains during the new vehicle manufacturing process or are retrofit to existing truck chassis in various applications, providing flexibility to achieve Green Fleet initiatives. The systems are sold and serviced through a worldwide distribution network including Altec and Terex Utilities. Odyne has also authorized selected Allison Transmission distributors to service Odyne systems across North America. In mid-2014, Odyne became a member of the Edison Electric Institute (EEI). At the annual convention in July, utility industry leaders encouraged all members to lead the way in adopting alternative technologies by pledging at least 5% of vehicle sales in 2015 toward plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) and technologies. Odyne’s backlog for 2015 is being fueled by the EEI member commitment and how appropriately the Odyne technology can help deliver on their pledge. Earlier this year, We Energies took delivery on two Odyne hybrid system equipped bucket trucks as part of a 292 vehicle, $45.4 million U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and South Coast Air Quality Management District of California (SCAQMD) award. Odyne is developing and deploying approximately 120 plug-in hybrid systems for trucks for companies and governmental entities throughout North America as part of the award. “We are proud to be adding these hybrid trucks to our fleet”, noted Jewel Currie, We Energies director of transportation, health and safety. “They’ll help us lower our fuel costs and reduce emissions. Plus, our employees and customers will notice how much quieter they are in the field.” Both trucks are equipped with diagnostics to measure the performance of the hybrid trucks relative to others in the We Energies fleet. Odyne has recently been approved as an eligible vehicle for the recently expanded Drive Clean Chicago program, promoting clean air and better business solutions for Chicago’s fleets. Under the program, over $11.2 million has been funded for vouchers for alternative fuel vehicles over 6,001 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and public stations in the city of Chicago and its six counties: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will. The incentives under the program cover 80% of the incremental cost of the vehicle. For further information, visit us at www.odyne.com and follow us on Twitter @Odyne.
