WISCONSIN CLEAN CITIES ANNUAL STAKEHOLDER SURVEY It’s that time of year again to fill out the annual survey and we need your help! We are collecting information based on your fleet’s alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, idle reduction efforts, alternative fuel station openings and fuel economy improvements.

Help us show all the activity going on in Wisconsin by telling us about your efforts to reduce petroleum consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. It also provides Wisconsin with opportunities for funding alternative fuel projects and helps promote our coalition and our great state. Plus, our annual stakeholder awards given out at the end of each year are awarded based on the data collected from this survey!

Please note the survey includes petroleum reduction methods outside of using alternative fuels and hybrid vehicles. It includes methods like carpooling, telecommuting, low-rolling resistance tires, trailer aerodynamic packages, and switching to more efficient or smaller vehicles.

As one of the largest green-transportation conferences held in the Midwest, this one-day event is a must-attend event for public and private fleets, as well as federal, state and local government officials, auto manufacturers, car dealerships, fuel suppliers, conversion companies, small businesses, and environment, clean-tech and clean-energy professionals.

Speakers from Fleet Owner magazine, automakers, shipping and logistics companies, and suppliers and vendors will address topics covering advanced-vehicle technologies and alternative fuels. The primary role of the Board of Directors is to provide overall guidance and policy to make final decisions on pivotal issues. The Board consists of representatives from both public and private voting member organizations. Members of the Board serve three year terms and are elected by vote, and are required to be dues paying members in good standing.

BIOFUELS RETAIL ADVANCEMENT IN WI TRANSPORTATION (BRAWT)

A Request for Applications (RFA) is open for developing infrastructure in Wisconsin to increase ethanol blends (E15, E25 and E85) gasoline.

EPA CLEAN DIESEL EMISSIONS REDUCTION FUNDING Request for Proposal (RFP): Thursday, February 25, 2016 Deadline for Applications: 4:00 P.M. ET Tuesday, April 26, 2016 Notification of Selected Applicants: June 2016 Funding of Awards: October 2016 EPA is announcing a $26 million funding opportunity for the Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program. The Program is soliciting proposals nationwide for projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions in terms of tons of pollution produced by diesel engines and diesel emissions exposure, particularly from fleets operating in areas designated by the Administrator as poor air quality areas.

Eligible Use Eligible diesel vehicles, engines and equipment may include school buses, Class 5 - Class 8 heavy-duty highway vehicles, marine engines, locomotives and non-road engines, equipment or vehicles used in construction, handling of cargo (including at ports or airports), agriculture, mining or energy production (including stationary generators and pumps).

Grant funds may be used for clean diesel projects that use: • EPA verified retrofit technologies or certified engine configurations • California Air Resources Board (CARB) Exit verified retrofit technologies or certified engine configurations • Idle-reduction technologies that are EPA verified • Aerodynamic technologies and low rolling resistance tires that are EPA verified • Early engine, vehicle, or equipment replacements with certified engine configurations

PARTNERS FOR CLEAN AIR The Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air sponsors two annual award competitions to recognize businesses and organizations in Wisconsin that voluntarily take action to improve our state’s air quality. The Clean Air Recognition Awards distinguish businesses and organizations for their clean air accomplishments and provide a venue for the organizations to share information about their successes with others. The Commuter Champion Award recognizes those organizations that provide exceptional transportation options to their employees.

The nomination deadline for both awards is March 18, 2016. The awards offer a positive image for the nominated businesses or organizations among the public, customers and employees. Organizations are encouraged to self-nominate , nominate other businesses or organizations, or forward the nomination information along to other businesses or organizations to self-nominate.

Awards will be announced at the annual Clean Air Extravaganza event held in May in the Milwaukee area (event details will be posted on the Partners’ website when available).
