UNDERSTANDING WORKPLACE CHARGING Many employers recognize the benefits of providing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for employees; benefits include attracting and retaining strong employees and supporting the company’s sustainability program, to name a few. And most employees see the benefit of installing EV charging stations. At two Madison-area employers-American Family Insurance and Raven Software, for example, at least 70 percent of employees surveyed were supportive. Doing your homework upfront is crucial for smooth implementation of a workplace charging program. For starters, survey your employees. Ask employees how far they commute, their willingness to pay for charging and whether on-site charging would sway their decision to purchase an EV in the future. Feedback will help you plan for equipment and develop charging policies and procedures. At Raven Software, 63% of employees would be more likely to buy or lease an electric vehicle if they could charge at work. This is important information to know as you plan for number of stations and where to locate them. FEATURED MEMBER Endpoint Solutions

Endpoint Solutions Corp. was formed in 2008 out of a desire to provide clients with cost-effective, common sense approaches while respecting our co-workers, employees, subcontractors, and clients. We pride ourselves on high quality engineering and innovative solutions with an end-focused approach. We are a nation-wide provider of environmental and engineering services based in Franklin, Wisconsin. Alternative fuels such as compressed natural gas (CNG), propane, butane, ethanol, and biodiesel offer great advantages in emissions reduction, cost savings, and supply diversification, but they also have particular chemical properties and handling requirements that are different from the traditional fuels familiar to most people. The design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of alternative fuel systems requires a specialized knowledge of the physical properties, safety requirements, and State and Federal rules, as well as a thorough understanding of the site requirements and consumer needs. Endpoint professionals have over 20 years of experience working with fuel and flammable/hazardous chemical storage systems including helping our clients plan and design new systems, obtain permits, communicate with regulators and inspectors, and manage construction from start to finish. Our staff includes certified tank installers, Steel Tank Institute (STI) tank inspectors, American Petroleum Institute (API) 570 piping inspectors, and certified site assessors. We offer assistance with air quality control and permitting, process safety management (PSM) programs, performing process hazard analysis (PHAs), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans. The blend of experience and expertise in both engineering and environmental safety and compliance positions us well to support our clients on all their fuel storage and handing needs. Endpoint has completed the design, permitting, and construction for multiple CNG stations in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. Our most recent project opened this spring in Edwardsville, IL. The station features three 200-horsepower gas compressors and nine CNG storage spheres with high flow dispensers to fuel multiple vehicles in under 10 minutes. Endpoint Solutions was responsible for civil design and layout, permitting, and construction management as the general contractor. The project was completed from start to finish in less than 6 months. Besides CNG, Endpoint has also permitted and designed butane fuel additive systems, ethanol and biodiesel storage system conversions, and propane and aviation fueling systems. Because we have professional engineers that are also certified STI tank inspectors, we have helped clients retrofit and certify used tanks for new purposes while maintaining quality and safety. In addition to our professional staff devoted to fuel systems, we also employ professionals with expertise in investigation and remediation of contaminated sites. As many CNG or LPG installations are retrofits on existing retail-fueling facilities, the ability to address existing contamination as part of the siting and installation is imperative to the success of the project. Endpoint’s focus is on building relationships and helping our clients complete projects smoothly and successfully.
