SENIOR OPEN PLAY PICKLEBALL

Join us at Academy Gym for Open Play Pickleball! You bring your own paddle and we provide the pickleballs and the people for you to play with. All levels are welcome.

Wii BOWLING

Simulate real life bowling by using simple motion controls. With the flick of a wrist you’ll become a pro! Don’t miss out on all the strikes and spares.

Bus Trips LUNCH BUNCH

Let’s do lunch! We might try something new, hit some favorites, or find something off of the beaten path. The cost of a lunch bunch outing is $3 for transportation. Lunch will always be Dutch treat. Trips are based out of the Enrichment Center (Franklin), Longview Recreation Center (Spring Hill), Fairview Recreation Complex, and the Nolensville Recreation Complex. Registration is required. Day Trips

Each month, we offer day trips and outings to places all throughout middle Tennessee and beyond! From museums and galleries, to distilleries and casinos, we’re always up for an adventure. Trips are based out of the Enrichment Center (Franklin), Longview Recreation Center (Spring Hill), Fairview Recreation Complex, and the Nolensville Recreation Complex. Registration is required. Therapeutics

The WCPR Therapeutics Division is comprised of Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) who assist people with disabilities in developing skills, knowledge and behavior for daily living and community involvement.

We work to improve the physical, cognitive, social and leisure needs of the participant. Our goal is to improve leisure functioning and independence.

We currently offer Therapeutic programs at two WCPR recreation facilities: Franklin Recreation Complex and Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville.

Friendsday Wednesday

Wednesday should always be Friendsday!

Come hang out with us as we create a fun craft or project and make a yummy snack to enjoy together. The theme for each month will change. In March, we will have a St. Patrick’s Day theme.

In April, we will have an Earth Day theme. In May, we will have a summer theme.

Therapeutics Bingo

Join us for a delicious dinner and bring a friend. Enjoy dinner and a festive atmosphere! Add an hour of exciting bingo and you have a fun filled evening. We will provide dinner, drinks, dessert, and bingo prizes.

Respite

Join us for an afternoon of games, crafts and fun! Participants will need to bring a lunch, snack, drink and any personal care items. Participants must be a resident of Williamson County.

New Participants: An assessment must be completed by a parent/legal guardian prior to registration. New participant must also be present during the assessment.

Therapeutics Fitness Fun

Come join us and get fit and have fun at the same time. We begin with stretching by using exercises and resistance bands then transition into strengthening with light hand weights and stability balls. We complete our workout with a 30 minute walk. Participants must be independent and can follow directions in a small group.

Lunch Bunch

Let’s do lunch! We might try a new restaurant or hit one of our favorites, but each month we will eat yummy food while socializing with friends. Transportation is not provided for this program. We will meet at the front of each restaurant before going in as a group. Before each Lunch Bunch activity, participants will be contacted with additional details. Lunch will always be Dutch treat.

Adventure Trips

Each month, we will be meeting up at a variety of local places for fun outings with friends. From bowling and hiking, to museums and matinees, we’re always ready for an adventure! Meet up times and ending times may vary based on location and hours of operation. Before each trip, participants will be contacted with additional details.

Young Adults Club

Join us for an evening of fun with friends! Whether you’re coming from school or stopping in after a busy day at home or work, we will have a fun evening planned full of various activities.

Therapeutics Recreation Night

This program offers different activities each month, such as dinner and movie, socials, karaoke night, and dances. Dinner, refreshments and dessert are also provided.

In March, join us for a karaoke party. Pick out a few songs to sing alone or with friends. Dress as a rock star if you wish. In April, participants will get to play challenging Minute-to-Win-It games.

In May, we will have outdoor games and a cookout.

Come enjoy cooking with friends. In March, we will be making fettuccini. In April, we will make Paninis. In May, we will make tacos and quesadillas

Meal Prep 101

In this class, participants will make a meal for two to take home and eat or freeze for another day. Participants will also get to try the finished meal that the instructor prepares. In March, participants will make sliders and chocolate éclair cake. In May, we will be making enchilada casserole.

Strange Science & Sensory

In this new class, participants will participate and interact in strange science experiments and enjoy a variety of sensory activities.

Friday Crafternoon is a craft class where participants will work on a specific craft together and time to complete the craft and take it home that day.

For our OPEN CRAFT STUDIO, we will have several different craft options for participants to choose to make and projects will be able to be taken home at the end of the group.

Meet us at the Franklin Rec Center and enjoy an afternoon of swimming. Afterwards, participants will change and enjoy pizza for lunch and watch a movie in the big screen with friends.

Movie Matinee

Join us at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center (112 Everbright Ave., Franklin) for a FREE movie matinee! Show time is at 10:00am and doors open at 9:30am (NO admission after 10:10am).

Concessions are not available but patrons are welcome to bring a bottle of water. Please call (615) 790-5719 ext. 2033 to ask about the movie title.

In this new activity, participants can come and get pampered for a while. We will do manicures, facials, and maybe a new hairdo. We will serve light spa snacks. You won’t want to miss it.
