TRANSLATIONS AND SCENES Regina coeli Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia, The son you merited to bear, alleluia, Has risen as he said, alleluia. Pray to God for us, alleluia. Let us sing to our Father in heaven, Praise the Lord in his splendor and might. Let us sing and rejoice, Christ is risen And ascends into glory and light! Um die Laube zu schmßcken Near the end of the opera, a group of women sing of the wonders of falling in love. O! dove mai andarano Oh! What is now become of those crowds of flatterers who constantly surround her in her days of happiness. Jane, even Jane herself has deserted her. But we forever, unfortunate, forever will be with you; whatever triumph awaits you, or deepest woe, and few hearts, but tender, destiny has left you. Behold her -- sorrowful and pale; hardly can she move along. Chorus of Witches They have gone! We shall come together again when we hear the crash of thunder. They have gone. Let us go. We await destiny's fulfilment amid the witches' sabbath. Macbeth will return, we shall see him there and our oracle will speak to him. Let us go! De poniam il brando Fold the flag, my brothers! Lay by the spear. We come from the battle, once more, Our pale, praying mothers and wives and sisters dear, Our loss need not deplore. Fold the flag, my brothers! O Isis und Osiris O Isis and Osiris! What delight! The dark night retreats from the light of the sun! – Soon will the noble youth experience a new life, soon will he be wholly dedicated to our Order. His spirit is bold, his heart is pure, soon will he be worthy of us.

Scene from Billy Budd In this chorus, the sailors anticipate naval action against the French. They pledge their support for Captain Vere (“Starry” Vere), and rouse themselves to prepare for battle. Chorus of Pirates A chorus of pirates drinking on the castle terrace. They are warned by Itulbo, their leader, not to give away their identities as pirates. Hou, Hou, Hou Ho, ho, ho, the moon rests over the water! She curiously looks into the deep, to the stones at the bottom. The Water Sprite nods his head, his old green head. Ho, ho, ho, who goes by int he night? Water Sprite, the moon rises, swinging into your window. In a moment, it bursts into your silvery home. Ho, ho, ho, the moon wanders over the water! A breeze flits over the lake. The Water Sprite woke up! That joker! Ho, ho, ho, bubbles are coming up from below, Ho, ho, ho, the Water Sprite is on the water! The Water Sprite wants to marry someone; Which one of you wants to foam the water for him? Or comb his old hair, or make his bed? Become his old lady? Ho, ho, ho! Mám, Zlaté Vlásky I have golden tresses, I have them! The fireflies are drawn to them, my white hand loosens them, the moon combs them with silvery beams. I have white feet, I have them! I run through the whole field, I run barefoot. The dew washes them, the moon wraps them in golden slippers. I have a beautiful body, I have it! On the glade at night, the moon shines with gratitude. Wherever I run, my white limbs are clothed by the moon in silver and gold! Dokola, Sestřičky Dance around, sisters, dance around, in the light evening breeze! In a moment, from the reeds, the green Water Sprite will call! Here he is, here he is, already working. Here he is! Water Sprite, hey there! Try and quickly catch us! Whichever one you catch, little man, will give you a nice kiss! But your wife, Water Sprite, ha ha ha, she'll pull your ears! Water Sprite, hey there! Try and quickly catch us!

Brindisi (Drinking Song) “Libiamo…” Alfredo Let's drink, let's drink from the joyous chalices that beauty blossoms. And may the fleeting moment be elated with voluptuousness. Let's drink from the sweet thrills that love arouses, because that eye aims straight to the almighty heart. Let's drink, my love: the love among chalices will have warmer kisses. Chorus Ah, let's drink, my love: the love among chalices will have warmer kisses. Violetta With you, with you I'll be able to share my cheerful times. Everything is foolish in the world which is not pleasure. Let's enjoy ourselves, for fleeting and quick the delight of love is: it's a flower that blooms and dies and can no longer be enjoyed. Let's enjoy ourselves, fervent flattering voice invites us. Chorus Ah, let's enjoy the cup, the cup and the chants, the embellished nights and the laughter; let the new day find us in this paradise. Violetta: Life means celebration. Alfredo: If one hasn't known love. Violetta: Don't tell someone who doesn't know. Alfredo: But this is my fate. All Ah, let's enjoy the cup, the cup and the chants, the embellished night and the laughter; let the new day find us in this paradise. Ah, ah, let the new day find us. (We shall let the new day find us.) Ah, ah, let the new day find us. (We shall let the new day find us.) Ah, yes... (Yes, we shall let, we shall let the new day find us...)
