EAST MEETS WEST WIND BAND INVITATIONAL
Pittsburgh’s North Hills High School Wind Ensemble under the direction of Leonard Lavelle and Lucas Beaver, and the Philadelphia area’s Quakertown Community Senior High School Wind Symphony under the direction of Frank Parker will be featured in this “East Meets West” concert of outstanding high school wind bands. The WCU Wind Ensemble will offer John Corigliano’s Gazebo Dances to conclude the concert.
The WCU Wind Ensemble is composed of 45 of the finest wind and percussion players at WCU. As a premier ensemble, the group represents WCU at conventions and performs in high schools throughout the region. Many new works have been commissioned by the Ensemble in recent years.
