Pat Metheny is one of the most important voices in modern music. Through his writing, recordings and performances he has created a significant body of work that places him among the major musical figures of our time. With his induction into the Downbeat Hall of Fame, Metheny becomes only the fourth jazz guitarist to be chosen for that honor, joining Charlie Christian, Django Reinhardt and Wes Montgomery. He has won twenty Grammy Awards in twelve different categories, been named Best Guitarist in countless polls over four decades and has sold millions of records worldwide.

ARIST PROFILES Chico Huff Bass Chico Huff has been playing electric bass professionally for about 40 years. Chico Huff is primarily self-taught, learning from all the wonderful musicians he has had the pleasure of making music with over the years. He his first paying gig when I was about 14 years old, playing standards on Martha's Vineyard in a bar/restaurant in Katama. Over the years Chico has had the pleasure of performing and/or recording with these fine folks: James Taylor, Kate Taylor, Alex Taylor, Carly Simon, Jeff Golub, Richard Elliott, Jef Lee Johnson, Kit Walker, Solas, Seamus Egan, Karan Casey, Liz Carroll, Chuck Loeb, Terrance Blanchard, John Belushi, Dr. John, John Swana, Cathy Ryan, John Hall, Jefferson Airplane, Francois Corneloup, Susan Werner, Antje Duvecot, Lizanne Knott, and many more. Chico Huff has performed throughout the USA and Europe as well as Japan and Morocco.
Christopher Hanning Drums Dr. Hanning is the Dean of the Wells School of Music and a Professor of Percussion at West Chester University. He is a recording artist for NFL Films, and performs with the Peter Paulsen Quintet, the Bach Festival Orchestra of Bethlehem, and Philadelphia's premier contemporary music ensemble Relâche. His performing has taken him throughout Europe and the United States with engagements at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Royal Albert Hall in London. In 2006 he released Island Grooves, an instructional drum set DVD that received a 4 1/2 out of 5 star rating from Modern Drummer magazine. Chris has recorded several CD's with Relâche, the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, David Liebman and the Manhattan Saxophone Quartet, and with the Peter Paulsen Quintet, among many others. Chris performed on numerous recordings for NFL Films over the past twelve years including several Emmy Award winning projects. You can hear Chris every year when the Lombardi Trophy music is played during the Super Bowl. Chris is an artist/clinician for Vic Firth, Pearl/Adams, Remo, Zildjian, and Panyard and has presented clinics at conventions, 37 different universities, and at percussion festivals across the United States and abroad. Chris is currently serving as the President of the Percussive Arts Society.
Kirk Reese Piano Kirk Reese has been an active part of the jazz scene in Pennsylvania for close to thirty years. He has performed with numerous renowned jazz artists including Phil Woods, Lou Marini, Marvin Stamm and Terell Stafford. As a clinician he has worked alongside many notable artists including Stephon Harris and Cyrus Chestnut. While working with Arts in Education, Kirk helped develop an arts infusion program for public schools, which earned him national recognition from the Leonard Bernstein Center as an innovator in music education.
Here on the central Pennsylvania jazz scene, he has been asked to open for Bela Fleck and Flecktones, B.B. King and others. An active recording artist, he has appeared on countless recordings including "The Reese Project: Blue Etude", which received a Grammy nomination in 2002. Kirk has been on the music faculty at Messiah College for nearly ten years and in that time has established a culture of small group jazz that has enhanced the department, reinforced the big bands, and been the catalyst for many students developing a life-long appreciation for the art form. Kirk also serves on the Artist/Faculty for the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz Summer Jazz Workshop at Messiah College, and maintains a private teaching studio from which he has coached dozens of musicians on all instruments toward chairs in district and state jazz ensembles, and acceptance into the country’s most prestigious under-graduate and graduate level jazz programs.

David Cullen has performed in a dazzling wide range of styles including Jazz, Classical and World Music .David Cullen is a Grammy Award Winning Guitarist for Best Pop Instrumental Recording. He has performed with Will Ackerman, Samite, Michael Manring, Victor Wooten, Tracy Silverman, Darol Anger, The Depue Brothers Band, The Jaco Big Band, The Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Philly Pops. He was a featured soloist in the New York Guitar Festival presented at the 92nd St Y. He is currently an Artist-in-Residence at Elizabethtown College. He teaches Jazz and Classical Guitar at West Chester University. David Cullen also teaches Contemporary Popular Guitar at Millersville University. David Cullen graduated from the Hartt School of Music with a BM, Magna Cum Laude, in Classical Guitar Performance. David Cullen is featured on the Windham Hill Guitar Sampler and other Windham Hill Compilation recordings. He has released 2 books through Warner Brothers Publications JAZZ, CLASSICAL and BEYOND and GRATEFUL GUITAR. His performance DVD, JAZZ, CLASSICAL AND BEYOND features multi-camera angles and lessons. He has performed throughout North America for Classical Guitar Societies, Performing Arts Series and Jazz Festivals. David Cullen has release 10 CD recordings Solid Air Records.
