THE MELIÁ WHITE HOUSE JOURNAL Nº011

Did you know…?
The White House OFFICIALLY BECAME A HOTEL The 70s saw the arrival of new owners and an extensive renovation plan. By 1970, The White House Club disappeared and it began to officially operate as a hotel. One wing of the building was still reserved for permanent resident’s use only.
In 1972, the Rank Organisation purchased the hotel from Odenino’s Property & Investment Company, and commenced a three year renovation programme.
We said farewell to the old swimming pool, squash courts and club facilities and hello to a new modern framework upon which The White House is based on today.
