Did you know…? a flashback of london’s most touristic spots A key place to recommend to our guests but, what do we know about it? Laid out as a residential district in 1791, Camden Town became an important location during the early development of the railways. The tube station was bombed during World War II, and it was not originally designed to cope with the volume of traffic it handles nowadays since the area increased in popularity. By the mid 20th century, it was considered an "unfashionable" locality.
Camden tube station’s bomb damage in 1940/Present day The Camden Market was born in March 1974 and started as a small pop up market consisting of just 16 stalls. On 9 February 2008, Camden Lock Village, then known as Camden Lock market, suffered a major fire, but no injuries. It has since recovered.
