ABOUT ACETAMIPRID
Description: Acetamiprid belongs to neonicotinoid family, composed from a synthetic organic compound. It is a systemic insecticide with translaminar activity and with contact and stomach action. It works as an agonist of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, affecting the synapses in the insects central nervous system cause paralysis. Acetamiprid is generally used to protect plants against sucking insects such as aphids, but it has also become common in household pest control to combat bed bugs. It is a broad-spectrum pesticide that can be used on plants ranging from leafy vegetables and fruit trees to ornamental plants.

a) Mammalian toxicity: WHO II, Moderately Hazardous. b) Environmental toxicity: It is rapidly and almost completely absorbed and rapidly and almost completely excreted out in animals, mainly via urine. It get extensively metabolized , mainly by oxidation and demethylation. In plants it slowly degraded on by forming five identified metabolites. In soil, the primary degradation pathway is aerobic soil metabolism. Acetamiprid is moderately to highly mobile in most soils but is not expected to be persistent in the environment. It is toxic to Birds. It is moderately toxic to fish. It is harmful to some beneficial arthropod species.
